Week of December 21, 2015

ABC News' "Nightline" ranked No. 1 in Total Viewers (1.564 million) during the week of December 21, 2015, based on Live +Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. "Nightline" led CBS' "The Late Late Show with James Corden" (1.016 million) by 548,000 and NBC's "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.438 million) by 126,000.

In addition, "Nightline" beat the CBS program in Adults 25-54 (+160,000 - 628,000 vs. 468,000) and Adults 18-49 (+72,000 - 468,000 vs. 396,000).

For the 2nd week in a row, "Nightline" posted increases week to week (1.535 million, 605,000 and 455,000, respectively, for w/o 12/14/15) in Total Viewers (+2%), Adults 25-54 (+4%) and Adults 18-49 (+3%).

"Nightline" improved on year same week last year (566,000 and 412,000, respectively, for w/o 12/22/14) by double-digits in Adults 25-54 (+11%) and Adults 18-49 (+14%).

Season to date, "Nightline" leads CBS' "The Late Late Show with James Corden" across the board: Total Viewers (+349,000), Adults 25-54 (+121,000) and Adults 18-49 (+62,000).

4Q 2015

ABC News' "Nightline" averaged 1.593 million Total Viewers, 633,000 Adults 25-54 and 488,000 Adults 18-49 during 4th quarter 2015, based on Most Current Data from Nielsen Media Research. Nightline" beat CBS' "The Late Late Show with James Corden" (1.244 million, 512,000 and 426,000, respectively) during 4Q15 by 349,000 Total Viewers, 121,000 Adults 25-54 and 62,000 Adults 18-49, leading the CBS program by its largest quarter margins yet in overall viewers and in the key adult news demo.

"Nightline" saw double-digit gains versus 3Q15 (1.395 million, 535,000 and 414,000, respectively) in all key target demos: Total Viewers +14%), Adults 25-54 (+18%) and Adults 18-49 (+18%).

Note: On Christmas Day (12/25/15), ABC's "Nightline," CBS' "The Late Late Show" and NBC's "Late Night" were coded as specials. On Christmas Eve on Thursday (12/24/15), "Nightline" was also coded as a special, while CBS' "The Late Late Show" and NBC's "Late Night" did not air. All specials are excluded from the weekly averages. ABC's, CBS' and NBC's program averages are based on 3 days (Mon-Wed).

ABC News' "Nightline" is anchored by Dan Harris, Juju Chang and Byron Pitts. Roxanna Sherwood is executive producer, and Steven Baker is Senior Broadcast Producer. The program airs weeknights from 12:35-1:05 a.m., ET on the ABC Television Network. Together with "Jimmy Kimmel Live," "Nightline" is part of ABC's winning late night strategy of airing news and entertainment programming.
