Sunday's Broadcast Ratings: "Sunday Night Football" Wraps Season on Top for NBC

Here are the highlights of the 19 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (1/3/16):

NBC (19.181 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 6.2, #1) was of course the network to beat on Sunday with the season finales of "Football Night in America #1" (7.215 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 2.0, #T8), "Football Night in America #2" (9.331 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 2.8, #5), "Football Night in America #3" (17.466 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 5.6, #2) and "Sunday Night Football" (21.494 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 7.1, #1).

CBS (11.192 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.5, #2) then was a distant second with its mix of "NFL Overrun" (21.522 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 5.4, #3), "60 Minutes" (13.432 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 2.4, #6), the Friday-bound "Undercover Boss" (6.642 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.4, #11) and a repeat "Limitless" (3.172 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.7, #17).

Next up was FOX (4.814 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.9, #3) with its own "NFL Overrun" (9.989 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 3.3, #4) and "The OT" (6.221 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 2.2, #7) followed by a new "The Simpsons" (4.434 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 2.0, #T8), the launch of "Cooper Barrett's Guide to Surviving Life" (2.634 million viewers, #16; adults 18-49: 1.2, #12), a new "Family Guy" (3.250 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 1.7, #10) and the debut of "Bordertown" (2.356 million viewers, #17; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T13).

And finally, ABC (3.254 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.7, #4) closed out the evening with a new "America's Funniest Home Videos" (5.923 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T13), the return of "Galavant" (3.492 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.9, #15), a second "Galavant" (2.956 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.8, #16), a repeat "Quantico" (1.866 million viewers, #19; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T18) and a second repeat "Quantico" (2.005 million viewers, #18; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T18).

FOX (16.870 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 6.2, #1) was the top draw on the first Sunday of 2015 thanks to its mix of "NFL Overrun" (40.072 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 13.1, #1), "The OT" (35.166 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 12.0, #2), "The Simpsons" (10.513 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 4.6, #3), "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" (6.015 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 2.9, #4), "Family Guy" (5.504 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 2.8, #5) and "Bob's Burgers" (3.948 million viewers, #16; adults 18-49: 1.9, #T8).

The silver then went to NBC (6.514 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.8, #2) with a new "Dateline NBC" (6.239 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T11) and the return of "The Celebrity Apprentice" (6.790 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 2.3, #6).

Next up was ABC (5.362 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.3, #3) with a new "America's Funniest Home Videos" (6.077 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T11) followed by the premiere of "Galavant" (7.875 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 2.1, #7), a second "Galavant" (6.801 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.9, #T8) and originals from "Resurrection" (4.095 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 1.0, #15) and "Revenge" (3.938 million viewers, #17; adults 18-49: 0.9, #16).
