Tuesday's Broadcast Ratings: CBS Dramas Top Viewers, Demos

Here are the highlights of the 16 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (1/5/16):

CBS (14.376 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.1, #1) was the top draw on Tuesday with new episodes of "NCIS" (18.723 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.6, #1), "NCIS: New Orleans" (17.003 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.4, #2) and "Limitless" (7.402 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T5).

NBC (6.730 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.6, #2) then claimed the silver with the return of "Hollywood Game Night" (4.387 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T7) followed by its crossover between "Chicago Fire" (7.422 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.8, #4) and "Chicago Med" (8.382 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.9, #3).

Next up was FOX (2.806 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.1, #3) and its new lineup of "New Girl" (3.348 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T5), "Grandfathered" (3.018 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 1.0, #11), "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" (2.720 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T7) and "The Grinder" (2.140 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T12).

Meanwhile, ABC (3.683 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.0, #4) served up repeats of "Fresh Off the Boat" (3.554 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T12) and "The Muppets" (2.115 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.6, #14) alongside special editions of "Shark Tank" (4.327 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T7) and "Beyond the Tank" (3.888 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.1, #10).

And finally, repeats of "The Flash" (1.215 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.3, #15) and "iZombie" (0.694 million viewers, #16; adults 18-49: 0.2, #16) on The CW (0.954 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.3, #5) closed out the night.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.9/4; "Late Show," 0.4/2; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.6/3.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.1/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.2/4 in metered-market households) beat CBS's "Late Late Show" (1.0/3). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.3/2 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.2/2).

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.2/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.

CBS (15.605 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.3, #1) was the network to beat on Tuesday with the return of new episodes from "NCIS" (19.491 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.8, #1), "NCIS: New Orleans" (17.355 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.5, #2) and "Person of Interest" (9.970 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.7, #T6).

ABC (6.211 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.6, #2) then claimed the silver with the premiere of "Marvel's Agent Carter" (7.430 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 2.0, #3), a second "Marvel's Agent Carter" (6.299 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.8, #T4) and a new "Forever" (4.905 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.1, #9).

Next up was FOX (3.984 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.5, #3) with the season premiere of "MasterChef Junior" (5.261 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.8, #T4) alongside fresh installments of "New Girl" (3.166 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.5, #8) and "The Mindy Project" (2.247 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 1.0, #10).
