NBC Ties for First for the Night in the 18-49 Demo
NBC spins the numbers for Tuesday, May 3.

NBC RATINGS NOTES FOR TUESDAY, MAY 3

Despite very strong competition from the cable news networks reporting on results from the Indiana primary, as well as several NBA and NHL playoff games ...

· NBC tied for first for the night in the 18-49 demo with a 1.6/5 in the 18-49 demo and 7.9 million viewers overall.

· At 8 p.m., "The Voice" (1.6/6, 8.4 million viewers overall) grew .2 in the second half-hour.

· "The Voice" tied for first among the Big 4 networks with 18-49 women and 18-34 women.

· "The Voice" will add substantial viewership via time-shifting and VOD. Tuesday's "Voice" has increased by +25% in 18-49 rating (from a 2.88 to a 3.59) and 2.1 million viewers overall (11.9 million to 14.0 million) going from L+SD to L+7.

· Upscale: Tuesday's "Voice" has delivered a solidly upscale audience, indexing at a 118 among adults 18-49 living in homes with $100K+ incomes ("most current," including L+3).

· At 9 p.m., "Chicago Med" drew a 1.5/5, 7.5 million viewers overall and was even in the 18-49 demo in both half-hours.

· NBC wins the 10 p.m. hour with "Chicago Fire" (1.6/5, 7.7 million) in the 18-49 demo, total viewers and all key measures.

· "Chicago Fire" handily defeated the season premiere of CBS' "Person of Interest."

· "Chicago Fire" delivered its 28thconsecutive time-period win in 18-49 versus regular ABC-CBS competition in the 10-11 p.m. slot when in original, dating back to February 2015.

In Late-Night Metered Markets Tuesday Night:

· In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 2.6/7; "Late Show with Stephen Colbert," 2.1/5; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.4/4.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.9/5; "Late Show," 0.4/2; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.4/2.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.0/3 in metered-market households and a 0.2/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.3/5 in metered-market households) beat CBS's "Late Late Show" (1.0/3). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.5/3 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.2/1).

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.8/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
