Friday's Broadcast Ratings: CBS Tops Night in Viewers, Demos

Here are the highlights of the 13 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (10/21/16):

CBS (9.050 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.1, #1) was the top draw on Friday with its trio of "MacGyver" (7.991 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T2), "Hawaii Five-0" (9.295 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T2) and "Blue Bloods" (9.863 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T2).

ABC (4.947 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.0, #2) then was the silver medalist with its mix of "Last Man Standing" (6.365 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T2), "Dr. Ken" (4.466 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T9), "Shark Tank" (5.355 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.2, #1) and "20/20" (4.072 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.9, #8).

Next up was NBC (4.663 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T3) with originals from "Caught on Camera with Nick Cannon" (3.351 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.7, #11) and "Dateline NBC" (5.319 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T6).

Meanwhile, FOX (2.682 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T3) offered up fresh installments from "Hell's Kitchen" (3.320 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T6) and "The Exorcist" (2.045 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T9).

And finally, the return of "The Vampire Diaries" (1.056 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.4, #12) and "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" (0.539 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.2, #13) on The CW (0.798 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.3, #5) closed out the night.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.7/4 with an encore; "Late Show," 0.5/2; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.5/2, with an encore.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.3/4 in metered-market households and a 0.4/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, ratings were: "Late Night with Seth Meyers," 1.2/4 in metered-market households with an encore; CBS's "Late Late Show," 1.3/4 with an encore. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, averages were: "Late Night," 0.4/3 in 18-49 with an encore; "Late Late Show," 0.3/2 with an encore.

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.3/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.

CBS (8.210 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.1, #2) then was the number two draw with its trio of "The Amazing Race" (5.971 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.1, #6), "Hawaii Five-0" (8.392 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.0, #7) and "Blue Bloods" (10.267 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T2).

Next up was NBC (3.869 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.8, #3) with originals from "Undateable" (2.628 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.7, #9), "Truth Be Told" (2.259 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.6, #10) and a two-hour "Dateline NBC" (4.582 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.9, #8).

Meanwhile, FOX (1.468 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.4, #4) offered up repeats of "Gotham" (1.675 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.5, #11) and "Rosewood" (1.262 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.3, #12).

And finally, new episodes of "Reign" (0.929 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.2, #T13) and "America's Next Top Model" (0.726 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.2, #T13) on The CW (0.827 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.2, #5) closed out the evening.

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.9/4 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.3/3 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
