Wednesday's Broadcast Ratings: FOX, "Empire" Hold Off Demo Competition

Here are the highlights of the 15 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (4/26/17):

FOX (4.766 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.4, #1) held off the competition on Wednesday with new episodes from "Shots Fired" (3.325 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T12) and "Empire" (6.207 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 2.1, #1).

CBS (6.595 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T2) then claimed the total viewers crown with its trio of "Survivor: Game Changers" (8.394 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.7, #2), "Criminal Minds" (6.798 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T4) and "Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders" (4.592 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T12).

Next up was ABC (4.750 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T2) with originals from "The Goldbergs" (5.244 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.4, #3), "Speechless" (4.482 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T4), "Black-ish" (4.373 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T4), another "Black-ish" (4.203 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T4) and "Designated Survivor" (5.099 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T8).

Meanwhile, NBC (5.326 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.1, #4) offered up new episodes from "Blindspot" (4.463 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.9, #11), "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (5.280 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T8) and "Chicago PD" (6.235 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T8).

And finally, the return of "Arrow" (1.506 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.5, #14) and "The 100" (0.921 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.3, #15) rounded out the night on The CW (1.213 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.4, #5).

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.7/4; "Late Show," 0.5/3; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.4/2 with an encore.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.0/3 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, ratings were: "Late Night with Seth Meyers," 1.2/4 in metered-market households; CBS's "Late Late Show," 1.0/4. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, averages were: "Late Night," 0.4/3 in 18-49; "Late Late Show," 0.3/2.

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households and a 0.2/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.

CBS (7.108 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.4, #2) then was the number two draw with a new "Survivor: Kaoh Rong" (9.328 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.1, #2) followed by a repeat "Criminal Minds" (5.508 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.0, #9) and an original "Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders" (6.490 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.2, #8).

Next up was ABC (5.016 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.3, #3) and its lineup of "The Middle" (6.657 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.6, #T3), "The Goldbergs" (5.809 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.6, #T3), a repeat "Modern Family" (4.947 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T6), "Black-ish" (4.998 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.5, #5) and "Nashville" (3.841 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T10).
