Thursday's Broadcast Ratings: FOX Edges Demo Win Over ABC, NBC Summer Launches

Here are the highlights of the 15 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (6/22/17):

FOX (3.036 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.9, #1) edged out the demo competition on Thursday with new episodes from "Beat Shazam" (3.161 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T1) and "Love Connection" (2.913 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T3).

NBC (3.921 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.8, #2) then was a close second with the summer premieres of "Hollywood Game Night" (3.793 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T6), "The Wall" (4.436 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T3) and "The Night Shift" (3.534 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T11).

Next up was CBS (4.125 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T3) and its repeat lineup of "The Big Bang Theory" (6.319 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T1), "Superior Donuts" (4.507 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T6), "Mom" (4.427 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T8), "Life in Pieces" (3.572 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T11) and "MacGyver" (2.964 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.5, #13).

Meanwhile, ABC (3.247 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T3) offered up the launch of "Boy Band" (3.134 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T8), a second hour of "Boy Band" (2.838 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T8) and the premiere of "The Gong Show" (3.769 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T3).

And finally, repeats of "Supernatural" (1.205 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T14) and a second "Supernatural" (1.261 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T14) rounded out the night on The CW (1.233 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.3, #5).

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.6/3; "Late Show," 0.4/2 with an encore; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.5/3.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.3/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, ratings were: "Late Night with Seth Meyers," 1.2/4 in metered-market households; CBS's "Late Late Show," 0.9/3. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, averages were: "Late Night," 0.4/4 in 18-49; "Late Late Show," 0.2/2.

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.2/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 14 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (6/23/16):

CBS (5.025 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.2, #1) staked claim the top spot on Thursday with its mix of "The Big Bang Theory" (7.192 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.4, #2), "Life in Pieces" (5.225 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T3), "Big Brother 18" (5.555 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.7, #1) and "Code Black" (3.313 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T9).

ABC (4.128 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.0, #2) then was a competitive second place with the return of "BattleBots" (3.859 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T6), a second "BattleBots" (3.868 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.0, #5) and a repeat "Celebrity Family Feud" (4.658 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T3).

Next up was FOX (3.304 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.7, #3) and its duo of "Bones" (4.415 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T6) and "Home Free" (2.194 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.5, #12).

Meanwhile, NBC (2.345 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.6, #4) offered up an encore of "Spartan: Ultimate Team Competition" (2.607 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T9) followed by the relocated "Spartan: Ultimate Team Competition" (2.663 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.7, #8) and a new "Aquarius" (1.766 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.4, #13).
