Monday's Broadcast Ratings: NBC Tops Charts Despite News Disruption

Here are the highlights of the 18 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (8/21/17):

NBC (5.231 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.2, #1) was still the top draw on a news disrupted Monday with its mix of "American Ninja Warrior" (6.108 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T1), "NBC News Special" (6.184 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T1), the second half of "American Ninja Warrior" (5.094 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T4) and "Midnight, Texas" (2.797 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T11).

The silver then went to ABC (4.172 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.1, #2) and its lineup of "Bachelor in Paradise" (5.116 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T1), "ABC News Special" (4.719 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T4), the second half of "Bachelor in Paradise" (3.954 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T4) and a repeat "Black-ish" (2.174 million viewers, #16; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T11).

Next up was FOX (2.782 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.7, #3) with a new "So You Think You Can Dance" (2.905 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T7), its "FOX News Special" (2.456 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T11) and the conclusion to "So You Think You Can Dance" (2.823 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T7).

Meanwhile, CBS (3.485 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.6, #4) offered up "Kevin Can Wait" (4.347 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T7), "Superior Donuts" (3.766 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T11), "CBS News Special" (4.142 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T7), "Mom" (3.177 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.5, #15) and the season finale of "CBSN: On Assignment" (2.739 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.4, #16).

And finally, repeats of "Supergirl" (1.127 million viewers, #17; adults 18-49: 0.2, #T17) and "Hooten & The Lady" (0.810 million viewers, #18; adults 18-49: 0.2, #T17) on The CW (0.968 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.2, #5) rounded out the night.

ABC (4.303 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.2, #2) then claimed the silver with originals from "Bachelor in Paradise" (5.188 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.6, #2) and "Mistresses" (2.533 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T9).

Next up was CBS (4.019 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T3) and its repeat lineup of "Mom" (4.621 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T4), "2 Broke Girls" (4.157 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T4), another "Mom" (4.266 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T4), "The Odd Couple" (3.714 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T4) and "Scorpion" (3.678 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T9).

Meanwhile, FOX (2.620 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T3) offered up its return of "So You Think You Can Dance" (2.620 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.7, #8).

And finally, repeats of "Supergirl" (1.254 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.3, #11) and another "Supergirl" (1.146 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.2, #12) on The CW (1.199 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.3, #5) closed out the night.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.8/5; "Late Show," 0.3/2; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.4/2.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.2/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.1/4 in metered-market households) beat CBS's "Late Late Show" (1.0/3). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.4/4 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.2/1).

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.3/3 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
