Sunday's Broadcast Ratings: "Sunday Night Football" Begins Its Reign for NBC

Here are the highlights of the 16 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (9/10/17):

NBC (19.265 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 7.1, #1) began its annual Sunday reign with the return of "Football Night in America #1" (6.988 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 2.3, #T6), "Football Night in America #2" (10.294 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 3.7, #5), "Football Night in America #3" (16.763 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 6.0, #2) and "Sunday Night Football" (21.559 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 8.0, #1).

FOX (8.161 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.8, #2) then was the silver draw with its mix of "NFL Overrun" (17.607 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 5.9, #3), "The OT" (11.771 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 4.2, #4), the premiere of "The Orville" (7.320 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 2.3, #T6) plus repeats from "The Simpsons" (2.677 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T11) and "Family Guy" (2.274 million viewers, #16; adults 18-49: 0.8, #14).

Next up was ABC (5.494 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.1, #3) and its lineup of "20/20 - Hurricane Irma: Monster Storm" (5.692 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T11), a repeat "Celebrity Family Feud" (5.080 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T11) and "The 2018 Miss America Competition" (5.603 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 1.2, #9).

And finally, CBS (5.445 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.0, #4) closed out the night with "60 Minutes" (8.161 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.1, #10), "Big Brother 19" (6.526 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.9, #8) and repeats of "NCIS: Los Angeles" (3.697 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.6, #15) and "Hawaii Five-0" (3.397 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.5, #16).

Second place then went to FOX (8.997 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 3.2, #2) with its mix of "NFL Overrun" (23.214 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 7.8, #1), "The OT" (16.646 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 5.8, #4), a special preview of "Son of Zorn" (6.041 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 2.4, #6) and repeats of "The Simpsons" (3.280 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 1.4, #9), "Family Guy" (2.894 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 1.2, #12) and "The Last Man on Earth" (1.906 million viewers, #17; adults 18-49: 0.8, #14).

Next up was ABC (5.727 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.1, #3) and its lineup of "America's Funniest Home Videos" (3.855 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.6, #15), "Celebrity Family Feud" (6.602 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T10) and "The 96th Miss America Pageant" (6.225 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T10).
