Thursday's Broadcast Ratings: "Big Brother" Sparks Another CBS Victory

Here are the highlights of the 15 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (6/28/18):

CBS (4.860 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.0, #1) claimed the top spot on Thursday with its mix of "The Big Bang Theory" (5.914 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.0, #3), another "The Big Bang Theory" (6.247 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.1, #2), night two of "Big Brother 20" (5.091 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.3, #1) and "SWAT" (3.409 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T8).

FOX (2.569 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.8, #2) then was the silver draw with a new "The Four: Battle for Stardom" (2.376 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T5) and a second "The Four: Battle for Stardom" (2.762 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.8, #4).

Next up was NBC (3.753 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T3) and its lineup of "Little Big Shots" (6.027 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T5), "Marlon" (2.959 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T8), another "Marlon" (2.447 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T8) and a repeat "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (2.530 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T11).

Meanwhile, ABC (3.289 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T3) offered up week two of "The Gong Show" (3.149 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T11), "Match Game" (3.642 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T5) and "Take Two" (3.078 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T11).

And finally, repeats of "Supernatural" (0.761 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.2, #14) and "Black Lightning" (0.572 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.1, #15) rounded out the evening on The CW (0.666 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.2, #5).

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.4/3; "Late Show," 0.5/3; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.4/3 with an encore.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.0/3 in metered-market households and a 0.3/3 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, ratings were: "Late Night with Seth Meyers," 1.1/4 in metered-market households; CBS's "Late Late Show," 1.2/4 with an encore. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, averages were: "Late Night," 0.3/3 in 18-49; "Late Late Show," 0.2/2 with an encore.

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.6/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.2/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 14 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (6/29/17):

CBS (4.670 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.0, #1) edged out the competition on Thursday with repeats of "The Big Bang Theory" (6.583 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T2) and "Life in Pieces" (4.689 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.8, #8) followed by a new "Big Brother 19" (5.305 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.6, #1) and the return of "Zoo" (3.068 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T11).

NBC (4.250 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.9, #2) then was a close second with its trio of "Hollywood Game Night" (3.899 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T5), "The Wall" (4.652 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T2) and "The Night Shift" (4.200 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T9).

Next up was ABC (3.403 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T3) with week two of "Boy Band" (2.709 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T11), the premiere of "Battle of the Network Stars" (4.030 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T2) and a new "The Gong Show" (3.471 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T5).

Meanwhile, FOX (2.783 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T3) offered up fresh installments from "Beat Shazam" (3.129 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T5) and "Love Connection" (2.437 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T9).
