Friday's Broadcast Ratings: ABC, CBS & FOX All Share Top Demo Honors

Here are the highlights of the 15 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (1/4/19):

CBS (7.373 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T1) was the most-watched network on Friday with the return of "MacGyver" (6.444 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T6), "Hawaii Five-0" (7.168 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T2) and "Blue Bloods" (8.508 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T2).

ABC (4.038 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T1) however shared the adults 18-49 honors with new episodes from "Fresh Off the Boat" (3.243 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T6) and "Speechless" (2.515 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T10) plus a two-hour "20/20" (4.618 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T2).

Next up was FOX (3.745 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T1) with fresh installments of "Last Man Standing" (5.678 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.0, #1), "The Cool Kids" (4.300 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T2) and "Hell's Kitchen" (2.500 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T6).

Meanwhile, NBC (3.254 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.5, #4) offered up a repeat "The Blacklist" (2.773 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.4, #12), a new "The Blacklist" (3.907 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.6, #9) and "Dateline NBC" (3.082 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T10).

And finally, second runs of "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" (1.022 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.2, #T13), another "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" (0.949 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.2, #T13) and the special "The Hollywood Walk of Fame Honors" (0.577 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.1, #15) rounded out the night on The CW (0.781 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.2, #5).

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.3/2 with an encore; "Late Show," 0.2/1 with an encore; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.4/2 with an encore.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.0/3 in metered-market households and a 0.2/1 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, ratings were: "Late Night with Seth Meyers," 0.9/3 in metered-market households with an encore; CBS's "Late Late Show," 1.0/3 with an encore. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, averages were: "Late Night," 0.2/2 in 18-49 with an encore; "Late Late Show," 0.1/1 with an encore.

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.5/2 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.2/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 11 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (1/5/18):

CBS (9.212 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.0, #1) edged out the competition on Friday with the return of "MacGyver" (7.864 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T3), "Hawaii Five-0" (9.896 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.2, #1) and "Blue Bloods" (9.878 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.0, #2).

NBC (4.488 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T2) then was the silver draw with its primetime coverage of the "U.S. Figure Skating Championships" (4.488 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T6).

Next up was ABC (3.680 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T2) with the launch of "Child Support" (4.394 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T3) alongside "Marvel's Agents of SHIELD" (2.477 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.7, #8) and "20/20" (4.168 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T6).

Meanwhile, FOX (2.977 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T2) offered up a new "Hell's Kitchen" (3.415 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T3) and an encore of "9-1-1" (2.538 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.6, #9).
