Sunday's Broadcast Ratings: "American Idol" Tops Demos for ABC

Here are the highlights of the 17 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (3/10/19):

ABC (5.976 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.1, #1) claimed the demo crown on Sunday with its mix of "America's Funniest Home Videos" (5.581 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T2), "American Idol" (7.221 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.3, #1) and "Shark Tank" (3.883 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T4).

CBS (6.487 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T2) then was the most-watched broadcaster with new episodes of "60 Minutes" (8.449 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T4) and "God Friended Me" (6.694 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T10) plus the special "Aretha! A Grammy Celebration for the Queen of Soul" (5.403 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T10).

Next up was NBC (3.055 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T2) with a repeat "Ellen's Game of Games" (2.790 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T13) followed by fresh installmets of "World of Dance" (3.479 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T4) and "Good Girls" (2.471 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T10).

Meanwhile, FOX (1.947 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T2) offered up repeats of "The Simpsons" (2.084 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T13) and "Bob's Burgers" (1.395 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.4, #15) alongside originals from "The Simpsons" (2.168 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T4), "Bob's Burgers" (1.981 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T4) and "Family Guy" (2.260 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T2) as well as a repeat "Family Guy" (1.794 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.7, #9).

And finally, The CW (0.913 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.3, #5) closed out the night with new episodes of "Supergirl" (1.060 million viewers, #16; adults 18-49: 0.3, #16) and "Charmed" (0.765 million viewers, #17; adults 18-49: 0.2, #17).

ABC (8.192 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.7, #1) rocketed to the top spot on Sunday with the debut of its lineup of "America's Funniest Home Videos" (6.016 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.1, #4), "American Idol" (10.327 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.3, #1) and "Deception" (6.099 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.3, #2).

To give "Idol's" return some context: the show's final season on FOX bowed to 10.850 million viewers and a 2.9 among adults 18-49 on 1/6/16.

FOX (3.495 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.0, #2) then was the silver draw with a repeat "Bob's Burgers" (1.525 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.4, #12), a new "Bob's Burgers" (1.834 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.7, #10) and the special "O.J. Simpson: The Lost Confession?" (4.402 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.2, #3).

Next up was CBS (7.997 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T3) and its mix of "60 Minutes" (9.224 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T5), a second "60 Minutes" (8.466 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T5), "NCIS: Los Angeles" (7.990 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T5) and "Madam Secretary" (6.309 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.6, #11).

And finally, NBC (3.401 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T3) closed out the evening with its annual telecast of "American Ninja Warrior: USA vs. The World" (3.548 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T5) alongside the return of "Timeless" (2.962 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.8, #9).
