Paramount+ announced today that "Clifford the Big Red Dog," which premiered on the service the same day it hit theaters on Wednesday, November 10, broke a new record as the service's most-watched original film.

Nov. 15, 2021 - Paramount+ announced today that CLIFFORD THE BIG RED DOG, which premiered on the service the same day it hit theaters on Wednesday, Nov. 10, broke a new record as the service's most-watched original film.

"CLIFFORD THE BIG RED DOG has wagged his way into the hearts and watchlists of Paramount+ subscribers," said Tanya Giles, Chief Programming Officer, ViacomCBS Streaming. On top of its record-breaking streaming debut, CLIFFORD THE BIG RED DOG had a strong theatrical opening, earning $22.2 million in domestic box office in its first five days of theatrical release. The film also received a Clifford-sized, glowing response from audiences, garnering an A CinemaScore.

When middle-schooler Emily Elizabeth (Darby Camp) meets a magical animal rescuer (John Cleese) who gifts her a little, red puppy, she never anticipated waking up to find a giant 10-foot hound in her small New York City apartment. While her single mom (Sienna Guillory) is away for business, Emily and her fun but impulsive uncle Casey (Jack Whitehall) set out on an adventure that will keep you on the edge of your seat, as our heroes take a bite out of the Big Apple. Based on the beloved Scholastic book character, Clifford will teach the world how to love big!
