Season To Date, 'Nightline' Leads CBS' 'The Late Late Show with James Corden' in All Key Target Demos

ABC News' "Nightline" ranked No. 1 in Total Viewers (840,000) for the 6th week in a row, during the week of Feb. 20, 2023, based on Live + Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. In fact, "Nightline" outdelivered CBS' "The Late Late Show with James Corden" and NBC's "Late Night with Seth Meyers" in Total Viewers in 12 of the last 13 weeks. In addition, "Nightline" beat the CBS program in Adults 25-54 and Adults 18-49.

"Nightline" saw week-to-week increases in Adults 25-54 (+12% - 211,000 - 189,000) and Adults 18-49 (+9% - 132,000 vs. 121,000), hitting a 4-week high in the key Adult news demo ― since w/o 1/23/23.

Season to date, "Nightline" is growing compared to the same point last season in Total Viewers (+7% - 911,000 vs. 851,000). In addition, "Nightline" leads CBS' "The Late Late Show with James Corden" in all key target demos.

This week "Nightline" covered Ukraine's one year of war; "World News Tonight" anchor David Muir's exclusive interview with President Biden from Warsaw, Poland; IMPACT x Nightline's episode about the high demand for diabetes drugs leading to critical disparities for patients; how a teen's death puts spotlight on escalating bullying trends; ABC News Studios new documentary "Rap Trap: Hip-Hop on Trial"; media stars reuniting to honor the first Black-owned TV station; and Jane Lynch's return to "Party Down" after a decade wait.

NOTE: On Monday, all three programs were coded as specials due to the Presidents' Day Holiday. The specialed telecasts are excluded from the weekly and season averages. ABC's, CBS' and NBC's weekly averages are based on four days (Tuesday-Friday).
