'Nightline' Leads CBS' 'The Late Late Show with James Corden' in All Key Target Demos This Season

Season to Date, 'Nightline' Grows in Total Viewers Compared to Last Season

ABC News' "Nightline" ranked No. 1 in Total Viewers (868,000) and Adults 25-54 (207,000) during the week of April 10, 2023, based on Live + Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. "Nightline" took the top spot over CBS' "The Late Late Show with James Corden" and NBC's "Late Night with Seth Meyers" in Total Viewers in 5 of the last 6 weeks.

"Nightline" increased week to week in all key target demos: Total Viewers (+12% - 868,000 vs. 774,000), Adults 25-54 (+2% - 207,000 vs. 203,000) and Adults 18-49 (+10% - 137,000 vs. 124,000).

Season to date, "Nightline" is growing compared to the same point last season in Total Viewers (+5% - 913,000 vs. 872,000). In addition, "Nightline" leads CBS' "The Late Late Show with James Corden" in all key target demos.

This week, "Nightline" covered co-anchor Juju Chang's interview with the reps expelled from the Tennessee state house; Chris Tucker's new role in "Air"; the Louisville bank shooting; ABC News' Zohreen Shah's interview with Owen Wilson; the trial of Lori Vallow Daybell; co-anchor Juju Chang's exclusive interview with an HIV patient in remission; the response to Gov. Greg Abbott's proposed pardon over convicted protest murderer; "Impact x Nightline"'s interview with Blac Chyna; the arrest of a 21-year-old suspect in connection with intelligence docs leak; new details about CashApp founder's murder and more.

NOTE: On Friday (4/14/23), CBS' "The Late Late Show with James Corden" was retitled to "Late Late Show-JC-ENC" due to being a repeat. The retitled telecast is excluded from the weekly and season averages. CBS' and NBC's weekly averages are based on four days (Monday-Thursday). In addition, NBC's "Late Night with Seth Meyers" was retitled to "Seth Meyers-SM" for the week due to being repeats. The retitled telecasts are excluded from the season averages.
