ABC NEWS' 'NIGHTLINE' RANKS NO. 1 IN TOTAL VIEWERS FOR 12TH CONSECUTIVE WEEK

Season to Date, 'Nightline' Scores Largest Overall Audience in 4 Years

For the First Time in 10 Years, 'Nightline' Is No. 1 in Total Viewers and Adults 25-54 Versus CBS and NBC

ABC News' "Nightline" ranked No. 1 in Total Viewers (846,000) for the week of Dec. 4, 2023, based on Live + Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. "Nightline" took the top spot in Total Viewers, beating CBS' "Comics Unleashed" and NBC's "Late Night with Seth Meyers" for the 12th week in a row. In addition, "Nightline" beat the CBS program in both key Adult demos.

Season to date, and for the first time ever in the 10 years in its time period, "Nightline" ranks No. 1 in Total Viewers and Adults 25-54 versus CBS and NBC. In addition, "Nightline" is growing versus the comparable weeks last season in Total Viewers (+11% - 985,000 vs. 890,000), Adults 25-54 (+12% - 247,000 vs. 221,000) and Adults 18-49 (+5% - 164,000 vs. 156,000), posting its largest overall audience in 4 years - since the 2019-2020 season.

This week "Nightline" covered Beyonce's ballroom "Renaissance"; researchers that found hundreds of plastic particles inside birds; Willem Dafoe on transforming for "Poor Things"; Hunter Biden's indictment; Ryan Seacrest's passion project; Maui Strong 808; school shooter Ethan Crumbley's life sentencing; "IMPACT x Nightline"'s latest episode about the reality show stars who spoke about the reckoning for their industry and more.

NOTE: On Friday (12/8/23), NBC's "Late Night with Seth Meyers" was retitled to "Late Night with Seth Meyers-SM" due to being a repeat. The retitled telecast is excluded from the weekly and season averages. NBC's weekly averages are based on four days (Monday-Thursday).
