Top 10 Week of Sept. 2: 'The Perfect Couple' and 'Rebel Ridge' Claim #1 Spots

Spoiler alert: Fans overwhelmingly RSVP'd for the wedding event of the season as The Perfect Couple snapped up the top spot on the English TV List with 20.3M views. Director Susanne Bier's sharp, twisty whodunnit limited series based on Elin Hilderbrand's New York Times best selling novel stars Nicole Kidman, Liev Schreiber, Meghann Fahy, Eve Hewson, Dakota Fanning, Ishaan Khatter, Billy Howle, and Jack Reynor. And what's a wedding without a little dancing? The deliciously addicting opening credits flash mob to Meghan Trainor's "Criminals" had fans obsessed. Trainor also got in on the trend!

Rebel Ridge, the high-velocity thriller from acclaimed writer-director Jeremy Saulnier, debuted atop the English Films List, clocking 31.2M views to make it the most-watched title of the week. The film, certified fresh on Rotten Tomatoes at 94% and hailed as the "action movie of the year," stars Aaron Pierre as a "new kind of action star." Pierre plays an ex-Marine who navigates his way through a web of small-town corruption when an attempt to post bail for his cousin escalates into a violent standoff with the local police chief.

Fans were terrified by demons, gods, and fathers (we're looking at you, Sir Reginald Hargreeves) for another week. Lee Daniels' horror thriller, The Deliverance, starring the ever-transformational Glenn Close, moved up to #2 on the English Films List with 21.8M views. Charlie Cowell's dark comedy series KAOS, starring Jeff Goldblum as the insecure, tyrannical King of the Gods, zapped #3 on the English TV List with 5.9M views. The series offers a sharp twist on the familiar story of Greek mythology. Meanwhile, the fourth and final season of The Umbrella Academy followed at #10.

Comedies of all kinds kept fans laughing this week. Returning to the English Films List were the action comedy The Union at #3 (8.3M views) and the raunchy teen comedy Incoming at #5 (6M views). Romantic comedies also shared a 'moment.' Season 4, Part 1 of Emily in Paris charmed at #4 (3.8M views) on the English TV List ahead of the release of Part 2 on Sept. 12. While films Aloha captured hearts at #8 (4.3M views) and How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days serenaded fans at #10 (2.8M views).

Documentary series making return appearances included Worst Ex Ever at #2 (7.2M views) and American Murder: Laci Peterson at #8 (2M views) on the English TV List and Caught in the Web: The Murders Behind Zona Divas (Mexico) #5 on the Non-English TV List. Season 8 of Selling Sunset opened at #6 (3M views) with new looks, fierce clashes, and, of course, stunning homes. Meanwhile Season 2 of the survival competition series Outlast debuted at #7 (2.2M views).

Heartfelt drama (Un)lucky Sisters (Argentina) moved up the Non-English Films List to claim the top spot with 4.2M views. Returning for another week were shark thriller Under Paris (France) in eighth, drama Untamed Royals (Mexico) in ninth and comedy adventure Mission: Cross (Korea) in tenth place.

Dramas claimed four titles on the Non-English TV List including soapy drama Breathless (Spain) which climbed to #1 with 6.4M views, emotional thriller The Accident (Mexico) at #2 (5.9M views), and romantic dramas Romance in the House (Korea) at #8 (1.3M views) and Chastity High (Japan) at #9 (1M views).
