DESCRIPTION: (from BBC America's web site) Ray Winstone (Sexy Beast, The Departed) is back at work playing private investigator Vincent Gallagher, a passionate, headstrong man who sometimes forgets that he's running a business and not a crusade. He's a workaholic who always goes the extra mile. Each episode has a self-contained storyline with the regular characters delving into the dangerous world of private investigations, often working outside the law. In Episode One, a distraught wife calls in Vincent to investigate her husband, who she thinks is being paid to do another man's murder sentence. As the team look deeper into the circumstances surrounding a hotel chambermaid's death, Vincent finds himself under arrest for murder when a second chambermaid turns up dead - this time in Vincent's flat. In Episode Two, Vincent finds a new employer in the Catholic Church when he is brought in to protect a community center after a series of attacks by a gang of juvenile delinquents. But he wonders who he's fighting when an arson attack leaves Father Frank fighting for his life and the gang leader turns on one of his own men. In Episode Three, Vincent hooks up with an old flame when a grieving mother asks him to re-examine a murder investigation. A search for the dead girl's last workplace leads him to Jackie Nelson, CEO of Nelson Global and Vincent's ex-girlfriend. In Episode Four, Daniel Stevens, a single father finds his home under attack and calls in Vincent. When Beth is sent in, posing as the child's nanny, Vincent finds himself witnessing a growing attraction between Beth and their client. As the threats against Daniel and the people he works with continue, Vincent realizes that the person they are looking for has known Daniel for a long time.
