After a long buildup filled with talk about big budgets, elaborate special effects and air date delays, FOX's "Terra Nova" finally bows tonight. The series finds the Shannon family (led by actor Jason O'Mara) transported from a not-so-pleasant future in 2149 back 85 million years to prehistoric times when dinosaurs roamed the Earth. At the helm of rebuilding this new colony is Commander Nathaniel Taylor (Stephen Lang), who may have an agenda or two of his own that will come to light as the series moves forward.

Does Taylor lean more into bad guy territory than good? Can the Shannons survive as a family in this new world? How much might good guy Jim Shannon (O'Mara) be corrupted once Taylor takes him under his wing? Why won't we see big name guest stars pop up on the show? How are the showrunners feeling just before the show is finally set to air? Our Jim Halterman sat down with executive producers Rene Echevarria and Brannon Braga at the FOX Fall Junket in Beverly Hills earlier this month to ask these questions and more.
