Video: TBS Gets New York Comic-Con Laughing with Samantha Bee & Jason Jones
Check out highlights from the creative force behind the new late-night show "Full Frontal with Samantha Bee" and the new scripted comedy "The Detour."

[via press release from TBS]

TBS played both sides of the coin at New York Comic-Con on Friday. First came laughs in the form of Samantha Bee & Jason Jones, the creative force behind the new late-night show Full Frontal with Samantha Bee and the new scripted comedy The Detour. Then things got serious with a screening of TBS's first-ever police procedural, Angie Tribeca, followed by a powerful, in-depth panel session with Rashida Jones and the cast. Below are a few highlights from the two unforgettable events.

Full Frontal with Samantha Bee and The Detour

Fireside Chat with Samantha Bee and Jason Jones

Comedy power couple Samantha Bee and Jason Jones sat down with Mo Rocca and a few audience members for an intimate fireside chat, during which they covered topics ranging from marriage to parenting to having not one but two shows on the same network. Samantha Bee is set to host Full Frontal with Samantha Bee, starting this January. And Jason Jones will star in The Detour, a new scripted comedy based on his and Bee's family adventures. Here are some of the highlights from their fireside chat (minus the fire):

"We stay together for our careers." - Jason Jones on the secret of their marriage

"Something you do as a negligent parent is check your Twitter feed while your children are playing." - Samantha Bee offers parenting advice

"It's our job to be utterly boring to our children." - More parenting insight from Samantha Bee

"Use those tote bags! Use them on your body and use them around town! Even if it is dirty!" - Samantha Bee touts the New York Comic-Con tote bags featuring her image

"My favorite comic book character has to be Ben Affleck's Daredevil." - Jason Jones

"We keep watching great stories pass us by. America will still be crazy by January, so I think we'll be fine." - Samantha Bee on the availability of stories to cover on her new show

"I love my own point of view." - Samantha Bee on the value of her own point of view

"The Detour pilot is very funny... much like TBS logo. And we promise we are going to make TBS actually funny." - Jason Jones on just how funny The Detour pilot really is

About Full Frontal with Samantha Bee

One of the most unique and visible comedic voices on television is coming to TBS in Full Frontal with Samantha Bee. Breaking up late-night's all-male sausage fest, this new show from the longtime Daily Show correspondent will feature Samantha's nuanced view of political and cultural issues, her sharp interview skills, her repartee with world leaders and, of course, her 10-pound lady balls. Set to premiere in January 2016 on TBS and its digital and mobile platforms, Full Frontal with Samantha Bee is executive-produced by Samantha and her husband, Jason Jones. About The Detour

TBS is packing up the car for what's certain to be a wild ride in The Detour, an outrageous new comedy series from former The Daily Show correspondents Jason Jones & Samantha Bee. Jones stars in The Detour, which is inspired by his and Bee's own experiences with family getaways. Also starring are Natalie Zea (Justified, The Following), Ashley Gerasimovich (Louie, We Need to Talk about Kevin) and Liam Carroll (The Neighbors). The show is slated to launch in spring 2016, exclusively on TBS and its digital and mobile platforms. The Detour is a what-in-the-living-hell-is-wrong-with-this-family comedy, the saga of a family trip gone oh-so-wrong. Jones plays unfiltered dad Nate, who heads out on the road with his wife, Robin (Natalie Zea), and their kids, rebellious daughter Delilah (Ashley Gerasimovich) and simpleton son Jared (Liam Carroll). Rather than being the adventure of a lifetime that Nate hopes for, every leg of their trip is fraught with unforeseen disaster as they encounter one hellish turn after another, from strippers to drugs to mail-order brides. If there's trouble on the road, this family will figure out a way find it and plow straight into it.
