It was the Net's second consecutive Thursday of the 2007 May Sweep to lead in the key young adult sales demo.

ABC more than tripled its results from the year-ago Thursday in Total Viewers (+207%) and Adult 18-49 (+260%) - (5.7 million & 2.0/6 on 5/4/06).

The Network tied its highest-rated Thursday night among Adults 18-49 (7.2/20) with entertainment programming since May 2000, and its top Adult 18-34 number (7.0/21 since January 2000 since 5/4/00 and 1/20/00. Without exclusions, ABC registered its highest Women 18-34 number (10.4/28) on the evening in nearly 13 years since 5/12/94.

"Ugly Betty" (8:00-9:00 p.m.)

Taking a strong second from 8:00-9:00 p.m. to CBS' veteran "Survivor" in Total Viewers and Adults 18-49, ABC's "Ugly Betty" (10.7 million & 3.6/11) beat NBC's comedies (7.5 million & 3.4/10 "My Name is Earl"/"The Office") and Fox's "Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader?" (8.6 million & 2.9/9). The ABC freshman series finished a strong No. 1 in its hour with Adults 18-34 (3.5/12) and Women 18-34 (5.4/16), ranking as the No. 2 TV program of the night in the latter measure, behind only "Grey's Anatomy." Furthermore, "Betty" has been No. 1 in its time slot with Women 18-34 on all 20 of its regularly scheduled original telecasts this season.

"Ugly Betty" was up for the second week in a row, growing from the prior week by 1.1 million viewers and by 16% in Adults 18-49 (9.6 million & 3.1/9 on 4/26/07). Thursday's No. 1 TV program in Total Viewers (21.0 million) and Adults 18-49 (9.0/24), an expanded episode of ABC's "Grey's Anatomy" towered above its 2-hour time period, dominating each half-hour. Head to head in the 9 o'clock hour, ABC's "Grey's Anatomy" defeated CBS' "C.S.I." by 2.2 million viewers (21.1 million vs. 18.9 million) and by 62% in Adults 18-49 (8.9/23 vs. 5.5/14). In fact, the ABC medical drama has beaten the CBS crime procedural drama in Adults 18-49 on all 17 of their original match-ups this season.

In the 2-hour time period, "Grey's Anatomy" produced ABC's top Adult 18-49 rating (9.0/24) with entertainment programming in 7 years and its highest Adult 18-34 rating (8.8/25) in 10 years since 5/4/00 and 5/1/97, respectively.
