ABBOTT ELEMENTARY (ABC) - Luke Tennie will recur on the new season as Dominic, "a new teacher at Abbott Elementary." (Deadline.com, 9/3)
AGENCY, THE (Showtime) - Amir El-Masry is set to recur on the series' second season as Saeed, "an intelligence officer from the United Arab Emirates." (Deadline.com, 9/4)
AMERICAN HOSTAGE (MGM+) - William Jackson Harper has boarded the period drama as Ben Hairston: "Respected and liked, good at his job, clever. Ben is Fred's (Jon Hamm) mentee at WIBC news. After being a newspaper reporter, he has finally found his work family at WIBC radio. This is a place where he is seen as a reporter's reporter who isn't afraid to raise the hard questions. Through the course of the series, as Fred becomes more and more compromised in his role as a negotiator, Ben must intercede and decide whether he should dethrone his mentor in the name of journalistic integrity." BEST MEDICINE (FOX) - The network's "Doc Martin" adaptation has cast Didi Conn as Geneva Potter, a councilwoman; Clea Lewis as Sally Mylow, a pharmacist; Stephen Spinella as Greg Garrison, co-proprietor of The Salty Breeze; Jason Veasey as George Brady, co-proprietor of The Salty Breeze; John DiMaggio is Bert Large, a handyman; Carter Shimp as Al Large, the son of Bert Large; Cindy De La Cruz as Jeannie, a schoolteacher; and the dog Wattson as Copernicus. BRILLIANT MINDS (NBC) - Jane Krakwoski will drop by the show's fourth episode this season as Arianna Burnett, "a high-powered businesswoman who fights her conservatorship despite her family's growing concerns." (Variety.com, 9/4)
CAPE FEAR (Apple TV+) - Ron Perlman, Ted Levine and Margarita Levieva will recur on the film-turned-TV series. Levieva replaces Clara Wong, while no details were given about the others. (Deadline.com, 9/3)

CIA (CBS) - Nick Gehlfuss and Michael Michele will star opposite Tom Ellis in the "FBI" spin-off series. The former will play "a by-the-book, seasoned and smart FBI agent who believes in the rule of law"; while the latter is believed to be playing "the head of CIA's New York Station." DUSTER (HBO Max) - Co-creator LaToya Morgan has signed a "mini" first-look deal with Universal Television where she'll develop new series projects via her TinkerToy Productions banner. Already, she's working on the studio's "The Paris Widow," an adaptation of Kimberly Belle's novel of the same name. (Deadline.com, 9/5)
DUTTON RANCH, THE (Paramount+) - Ed Harris is the latest addition to the "Yellowstone" spin-off series as Everett McKinney, "a weathered veteran and veterinarian who treats animals with compassion and understanding, and possesses a good sense of humor." (Deadline.com, 9/3)
ELSBETH (CBS) - William Jackson Harper and Annaleigh Ashford are the latest faces bound for the new season. Harper will portray "the founding director of a New York City poetry journal, desperate for funding"; with Ashford as Sharon Norman, "a murderous suburban housewife," in a special Halloween-themed episode. GOING DUTCH (FOX) - Two-time Emmy winner Kristen Johnston will recur on the new season as General Martin, "one of the highest-ranking combat generals in NATO, General Martin is in command, confident, and, much to the Colonel's (Denis Leary) surprise, stunning. General Martin is Maggie's (Taylor Misiak) Canadian idol and invites to Stroopsdorf with the idea of pitching herself as a mentee, but things get complicated when General Martin and the Colonel develop an immediate attraction." GROUP CHAT (Hulu) - The La La Anthony-led comedy pilot has cast Yaya DaCosta, Melanie Liburd, Rebecca Rittenhouse, and Stephanie Suganami. No details about their roles were given. Additionally, Kim Kardashian will serve as the show's narrator and guest star. (Deadline.com, 9/2)
HOPE (Netflix, New!) - Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski are spearheading series adaptation of Andrew Ridker's novel at the streaming service: "Hope, set over one year in 2013, tells the story of the Greenspans, who are the envy of Brookline, Massachusetts, an idyllic and idealistic suburb west of Boston. Scott Greenspan is a successful physician with his own cardiology practice. His wife, Deb, is a pillar of the community who spends her free time helping resettle refugees. Their daughter, Maya, works at a distinguished New York publishing house and their son, Gideon, is preparing to follow in his father's footsteps. They are an exceptional family from an exceptional place, living in exceptional times." Director Noah Baumbach is also on board to executive produce for A24. (Deadline.com, 8/30)
HUNTING WIVES, THE (Netflix) - Lionsgate Television is "in advanced negotiations" with the streamer for a second season of the series. (Deadline.com, 9/4)
MADISON, THE (Paramount+) - Kurt Russell has formally signed onto the Taylor Sheridan series. No character details were given. The actor was among the first names (along with Michelle Pfeiffer and Patrick J. Adams) mentioned for the project in August of 2024. (Deadline.com, 9/4)
MONSTER VOLUME 4 (Netflix) - Charlie Hunnam is in talks to return to the "Monster" franchise as Andrew Jackson Borden, Lizzie's (Ella Beaty) father. (Variety.com, 9/2)
SCRUBS (REBOOT SERIES) (ABC) - Original cast members John C. McGinley and Judy Reyes have closed deals to return for the revival series. (Deadline.com, 9/4)

SKYMED (Paramount+) - The show's fourth season has added Shawn Ahmed as "cocky Flight Nurse Zay Patel"; Leishe Meyboom as "spirited rookie Flight Nurse Piper Adler"; Alexander Eling as "charming First Officer Wyatt Ellis"; Cecilia Lee as "ambitious pilot Maya Chang"; and Lauren Lee Smith as Captain Riley, "a globe-trotting pilot with a past connection to Wheezer."
