SCI FI CHANNEL TO RE-TEAM WITH STEVEN SPIELBERG, LES BOHEM AND DREAMWORKS TELEVISION FOR NINE LIVES

12-HOUR MINISERIES EVENT GREENLIT FOR PRODUCTION

Pasadena, CA - January 12, 2006 - SCI FI Channel will once again team with Steven Spielberg, screenwriter Les Bohem and DreamWorks Television, for the ambitious 12-hour miniseries event NINE LIVES, it was announced today at the Television Critics Press Tour. The group's last collaboration was 2003's groundbreaking, Emmy Award-winning 20-hour miniseries, Steven Spielberg Presents TAKEN. NINE LIVES is slated to air in 2007.

Nine Lives unfolds as an epic story of love, exploring the greatest mystery of all... what happens after you die? The drama focuses on several characters, each grieving over the loss of a loved one. First by accident, then intentionally induced, each has discovered how to reunite with their loved ones in the afterlife through near-death experiences. But each journey to the other side brings closer an unknown evil, which is about to be unleashed on mankind.

As he did with TAKEN, Les Bohem (The Alamo) will pen the entire saga, as well as executive produce the film with Steven Spielberg and DreamWorks Television Co-President's Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank.

"Our last outing with Steven Spielberg, Les Bohem and DreamWorks was both a milestone for television and a turning point for SCI FI. We can't wait to work with this team to recapture that magic," said Mark Stern, SCI FI Channel Executive Vice President of Original Programming. "NINE LIVES is an event miniseries that deals with one of our most compelling universal themes - the afterlife."

"We're extremely excited about being back with our family at SCI FI with NINE LIVES. Les has done an amazing job at delivering on Steven's ideas and, as with TAKEN," he has crafted them into an incredibly entertaining narrative that benefits from the mutli-night format," said Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey.

Recent highlights of SCI FI's big event miniseries strategy include ratings winners like Bryan Singer and Dean Devlin present The Triangle, Battlestar Galactica, now the channel's most critically acclaimed original series, the Emmy Award-winning 10-night mega-event Steven Spielberg Presents TAKEN, and the critically-acclaimed literary adaptations of Children of Dune and Legend of Earthsea - all of which have met with unprecedented success for the Channel.

DreamWorks Television is a division of DreamWorks SKG which was founded in 1994 by Steven Spielberg, Jeffrey Katzenberg and David Geffen. DreamWorks Television is currently in production on season three of the hit NBC series "Las Vegas" as well as season two of the critically acclaimed FX drama "Rescue Me," and the upcoming ABC reality series "The Miracle Workers."

DreamWorks Television recently produced "Into The West" for TNT, which was the highest rated mini-series for the season with 81 million unique viewers and has been nominated for Globe Globe, PGA, Broadcast Critics, and SAG Awards(among others).

Other past DreamWorks Television projects include: "Spin City," "Father of the Pride," "Freaks and Geeks," "The Job," "Boomtown," "Undeclared" and the Emmy award winning miniseries'; "Band of Brothers," and "Taken."
