NBC Says 'Come to Papa' for Midseason

CHICAGO (thefutoncritic.com) -- NBC has picked up its recent comedy pilot "Come to Papa" for a midseason order of six episodes.

The project stars comedian Tom Papa as an aspiring writer who's still trapped in the same New Jersey town he grew up in. Among the cast are Jennifer Aspen as Papa's wife with Hal Linden and Shirley Jones as his parents.

Papa created the series, which comes from Warner Bros. Television and NBC Studios, along with executive producer Greg Malins ("Friends").
