'Like Family' Gets Thursday WB Slot
By Brian Ford Sullivan (TFC)

CHICAGO (thefutoncritic.com) -- The WB has quietly announced it plans to move its freshman comedy "Like Family" to Thursdays at 8:30/7:30c beginning next week.

The series had been displaced from its regular Friday, 9:30/8:30c time period with the addition of the midseason comedy "The Help" this past weekend. "Family" will take over for "All About the Andersons," which has completed airing all of its first-run installments this season.

Here's how the Frog describes the first episode set to air in its new time period, "Women at Work":

A WOMAN'S WORK IS NEVER DONE Thanks to Tanya's (Holly Robinson Peete) coaching, Maddie (Diane Farr) receives a promotion at work, but her new job leaves her so busy she is unable to find time to help Keith (J Mack Slaughter) with his problems at school, so Tanya steps in to help. Jealous over Maddie's new status at work, Tanya starts to wonder if the time has come to return to her job as an attorney. Kevin Michael Richardson, Megalyn Echikunwoke, B.J. Mitchell and J. Anthony Brown also star. Barnett Kellman directed the episode written by Kenya Barris.

Speaking of "The Help," the WB has issued a press release touting the show's debut numbers:

"THE HELP" HELPS THE WB TO ITS MOST-WATCHED FRIDAY OF THE SEASON

PREMIERE OF THE COMEDY SHOW SCORES TIME PERIOD SEASON HIGHS IN TOTAL VIEWERS AND ADULTS 18-34 AND ACHIEVES #2 TIME PERIOD RANK ACROSS THE 12-34 DEMOS AND #3 IN ADULTS 18-34

The premiere of THE HELP not only attracted the most viewers to the 9:30-10:00 p.m. Friday time period this season (3.3 million) for The WB, it led the network to its most-watched Friday of the season (3.9 million).

THE HELP also achieved the highest ratings of the season for its time period in adults 18-34 (1.6/6), men 12-34 (1.3/5) and men 18-49 (1.0/3).
