By The Futon Critic Staff (TFC)

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- CBS has announced two new additions to its latest installment of the "C.S.I." franchise.

Both announcements were made via press release this afternoon:

EDDIE CAHILL SET TO STAR IN "CSI: NY"

New Drama Series To Premiere This Fall On the CBS Television Network

Eddie Cahill has been cast in CSI: NY, a new drama series to premiere this fall, on Wednesdays (10:00 PM-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

Cahill will portray homicide Detective Don Flack, an edgy, sexy investigator, whose quick wit and impressive forensic insight help him solve crimes in the city that never sleeps. Flack is a second generation officer who joined the Academy at the age of 20. Hes not one to sugar coat reality or having patience with potential suspects.

Cahills television credits include the lead role in the television series "Glory Days," a recurring role on "Friends," where he played opposite actress Jennifer Aniston as her boyfriend "Tag Jones," and guest starring roles on "Sex and the City," "Dawsons Creek," "Haunted," "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," "Charmed," and "Felicity." His feature film credits include Miracle.

CSI: NY stars Academy Award-nominee, Golden Globe and Emmy Award-winner Gary Sinise ("Forrest Gump") and Emmy Award-nominee Melina Kanakaredes ("Providence") in a crime drama, spun-off from "CSI: Miami," about forensic investigators who use high-tech science to follow the evidence and solve crimes in The Big Apple. Carmine Giovinazzo ("Black Hawk Down"), Vanessa Ferlito ("24," "Spider-Man 2") and Hill Harper ("The Handler") also star.

CSI: NY is produced by Jerry Bruckheimer Television and CBS Productions in association with Alliance Atlantis Communications.

GRANT ALBRECHT (S.W.A.T.), WHO RECENTLY PARTICIPATED IN CBS TALENT SHOWCASE FOR ACTORS WITH DISABILITIES, SET AS A RECURRING CHARACTER IN "CSI: NY"

New Drama Series To Premiere This Fall on the CBS Television Network

Grant Albrecht (S.W.A.T.) has been cast in a recurring role in CSI: NY, a new drama series to premiere this fall, on Wednesdays (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Albrecht most recently participated in CBS Spring 2004 Talent Showcase for actors with disabilities.

Albrecht will portray the head of the DNA department who used to be a long distance runner until he was stricken with a disease that has caused paralysis from the waist down.
