My Wife and Kids' Production Start Release

[via press release from ABC]

PRODUCTION HAS BEGUN IN LOS ANGELES ON THE FIFTH SEASON OF ABC'S "MY WIFE AND KIDS," PREMIERING ON A NEW NIGHT, TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 21

Production has started on new episodes of "My Wife and Kids," the award-winning family comedy starring film and television star Damon Wayans. The half-hour series will premiere its fifth season on a new night, TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 21 (8:00-8:30 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

Damon returns as Michael Kyle, a loving husband and modern-day patriarch who rules his household with a unique and distinct parenting style. As he teaches his three children-Jr., Claire and Kady-some of life's lessons, he does so with his own brand of wisdom, discipline and humor.

Now that Jr. and his girlfriend, Vanessa, are parents of a baby boy, Michael and his wife, Jay, are proud but young grandparents who are adjusting to their new roles.

Damon Wayans stars as Michael Kyle, Tisha Campbell-Martin as Jay Kyle, George O. Gore II as Jr., Jennifer Freeman as Claire Kyle, Parker McKenna Posey as Kady Kyle, Noah Gray-Cabey as Franklin, Andrew McFarlane as Tony and Brooklyn Sudano as Vanessa.

Damon Wayans and Don Reo are co-creators and executive producers, and Dean Lorey is executive producer of the half-hour comedy series. The series tapes at the Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, CA, and is from Touchstone Television. It premiered March 28, 2001.

"My Wife and Kids" is broadcast in 720 Progressive (720P), ABC's selected HDTV format, with 5.1-channel surround sound.
