Bertinelli Returns to Television for the First Time in Four Years; Appears With Nation's TV Writers at Bi-Annual Summer Press Tour

Chilling premonitions become horrifying reality in "Claire," a Hallmark Original Movie premiering Saturday, August 11 (9/8c). Valerie Bertinelli stars as a widowed mother forced to use her psychic powers to help police solve an ages old cold case and to protect her family and friends from the killer terrorizing her community.

For the vibrant Bertinelli, an iconic face of television, the Hallmark Original Movie is her first foray back into entertainment since starring in hit shows "Touched By An Angel" and "One Day At A Time."

In "Claire," Bertinelli plays Claire Bannion, a widowed mother of two young daughters living with the gift � and curse � of extrasensory perception (ESP). It is something that has tormented her ever since she "saw" her husband die in a fishing accident two years earlier, but was powerless to prevent it. Slowly, Claire takes steps to rebuild her life, with the help of her husband's Uncle Harry and his childhood friend, Ben. But her idyllic life is shattered when her neighbors are suddenly and brutally murdered, seemingly at random.

Claire reluctantly agrees to use her unique skill to assist in the police investigation, eventually perceiving that the murders not only may be related, but could also be connected to earlier killings and to a 20-year-old tragedy involving Ben. As the pressure intensifies to find the killer before new victims are claimed, it is those closest to Claire who are in the most danger�and under the most scrutiny.
