COURTROOM K (FOX) - Jonathan Sadowski ("Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles") is the first to be cast in the pilot, a darkly comedic courtroom drama set in a Milwaukee Superior Court. He'll play a public defender on the hour, which comes from creator Paul Attanasio and 20th Century Fox Television.
KATH & KIM (NBC) - John Michael Higgins ("Fred Claus") and Mikey Day ("The Underground") are the latest additions to the Peacock's upcoming comedy, about the dysfunctional relationship between Kath (Molly Shannon) and her daughter, Kim (Selma Blair). Higgins is set as Carl Rutter, who's detailed in the casting notice as: "Early-Late 40s, any ethnicity, a bit of a dweeb but a good guy, Carl owns his own sporting equipment store and has been dating Kath for the past few months. Obviously in love with her, Carl is a bit taken aback by her hostile daughter but that doesn't diminish his passion for Kath, and he's eager to take their relationship to the next (physical) level. Despite Kim's obvious antagonism, Carl loves Kath, and asks her to marry him in front of everyone at his store." Day then is set as Craig: "Late 20s-Early 30s, Hispanic. Kim's husband. He's a cute, simple guy. He works at a Best Buy kind of store. He knows he has his hands full with Kim but he had a dominating mother too which explains a lot." Universal Media Studios and Reveille are behind the project, which is executive produced by Gina Riley, Jane Turner, Michelle Nader, Paul Feig and Rick McKenna.
