UNIVERSAL HD GIVES SUMMER A JUMPSTART WITH AN ACTION-PACKED SCHEDULE IN MAY

Showtime Championship Boxing Continues and NHL Playoffs are Encored in Knock-Out High Definition

BURBANK, Calif. - April 21, 2008 - May on Universal HD is packed with a high-impact schedule. May's lineup helps viewers get ready for a spectacular summer with a spectacular movie line-up featuring themed movie days and a preview of Sexy Summer Sundays. Showtime Championship Boxing continues and the NHL Playoffs are encored weekends in May.

"May is a great month for Universal HD," said Dan Harrison, Senior Vice President, Emerging Networks. "This month we are giving viewers a taste of what's to come this summer and a taste of what action really looks like in 1080i high definition. It will blow them away."

In preparation for this summer's highly anticipated "Indian Jones" movie, Universal HD is giving viewers a double dose of Harrison Ford with two of his best action movies. "Clear and Present Danger" will have its Universal HD premiere on Thursday, May 15 at 10:30pm ET followed by "Frantic" on Friday, May 16 at 8pm ET.

Sexy Summer Sundays begin this summer on Uni HD and viewers will get a special preview in May with mini-marathons on Sunday, May 25. It all starts with three hours of "South Beach" starring Vanessa Williams from 12-3pm ET, followed by "Sex, Lies and Secrets" from 3-6pm ET.

An action-packed Memorial Day is non-stop on Monday, May 26 kicking off with "Blind Fury" at 8:30am and 5pm ET. Up next is Kurt Russell in "Escape from New York" at 10:30am and 7pm ET, followed by a futuristic action-adventure in "Timecop" starring Mr. Action himself, Jean-Claude Van Damme at 12:30pm and 11:30pm ET. It would not be a true action marathon without Arnold Schwarzenegger in "Last Action Hero" at 2:30pm ET and Harrison Ford is very patriotic in "Clear and Present Danger" at 9pm ET.

Mother's Day in May gives our Moms a chance to see some of their favorite stars with a special Mother's Day marathon on Sunday, May 11. Three of our favorite moms, Bette Midler, Goldie Hawn and Sarah Jessica Parker, begin the marathon in "The First Wives Club" at 8pm and 12:30am ET. Harrison Ford and Julia Ormond star in the remake of the classic love story, "Sabrina," at 10pm ET and Albert Brooks and Meryl Streep wrap up the marathon in the wacky romantic comedy "Defending Your Life" at 2:30am ET.

Sporting events come alive in 1080i high definition in may with the continuation of Showtime Championship Boxing and the NHL playoffs encore. Viewers will feel like they are ringside on Sunday, May 18 at 8pm and 10:30pm ET when Woods Vs. Tarver battle it out. Our night owl viewers will have more reasons to stay up late when Uni HD encores the NHL playoff games weekends in May, starting with Conference Semifinals on Saturday, May 3 at 2am ET and Sunday, May 4 at 2:30am ET.
