"THE HILLS" STAR AND FASHION DESIGNER LAUREN CONRAD TO DESIGN RED CARPET GOWN FOR THE 60TH ANNUAL PRIMETIME EMMY AWARDS TROPHY PRESENTERS

Ceremony Airs Live September 21 on ABC

A celebrity designer -- Lauren Conrad, star of MTV's reality show "The Hills" - for the first time ever will design a one-of-a-kind couture red carpet gown for the 60th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards trophy girls, it was announced today by Ken Ehrlich, executive producer of the telecast. "The 60th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards" will air live from the NOKIA Theatre in Los Angeles on SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 21 (8:00-11:00 p.m., ET/PT) on the ABC Television Network.

"For the first time in Emmy history, a celebrity designer will be creating a gown to be worn by the women who are handing out the Emmys statuettes," said Ehrlich. "We are very excited to have someone as talented as Lauren Conrad working with us to help make this a very memorable and exciting show."

"I am so excited that the Academy has asked me to design a dress for this year's Emmy Awards," said Conrad. "I will be doing a red carpet look that still reflects the simple classic design of the Lauren Conrad Collection but with a black tie twist."

Conrad, who is currently starring in the third season of MTV's "The Hills," debuted her line at this year's L.A. Fashion Week. This red carpet gown will be made especially for the 60th Primetime Emmy Awards, and is not part of the Lauren Conrad Collection.

The telecast is being produced by AEG Ehrlich Ventures LLC. Returning with Ehrlich are producer Renato Basile and co-producer Danette Herman. Lou Horvitz will be directing.
