ALLIGATOR BOOTS (Comedy Central, New!) - Kanye West is set to team with Jackhole Productions ("Crank Yankers") for a new half-hour project described as a hip-hop version of "The Muppet Show." Production has already been completed on the pilot, which features music produced and performed by West and fellow rapper Rhymefest. West, who also hosted the pilot, is executive producing alongside Rhymefest and Jackhole's Jimmy Kimmel, Daniel Kellison and Adam Carolla. Kimmel's brother Jon ("South Park") is also serving as a co-executive producer.
LAPD (NBC) - Tom Everett Scott and Arija Bareikis are the latest additions to pilot, an ensemble drama from executive producer John Wells. Scott will play Russell, a cop and father of three married to a blogger; with Bareikis as a uniformed patrol cop who shares her teenage son's love of surfing. The pair join the previously cast Benjamin McKenzie, Michael Cudlitz, Michael McGrady, Shawn Hatosy and Kevin Alejandro. Christopher Chulack is helming the Warner Bros. Television-based hour, which was created by Ann Biderman.
LIGHT YEARS (The CW)/MYSTIC CONFIDENTIAL.COM (ABC) - Liz Tigelaar ("Brothers & Sisters") has booked a pair of projects at the CW and ABC. At the former, she's sold "Light Years," which follows a smart, sassy teenager who, while seeking emancipation after growing up in foster homes, discovers that her birth parents - mom's a morning radio show host with commitment-phobia and dad's an immature bar owner - were teens who split after a one-night stand that resulted in pregnancy. "Years" is set up at ABC Studios where Gary Fleder ("Life on Mars") is attached to direct. And over at the Alphabet, she's set up "Mystic Confidential.com," a family drama focusing on a how a blog impacts the lives of the members of a small town. Said hour is set up at the ABC Studios-based Berlanti Television with Greg Berlanti, Morgan Wandell and Laurence Mark executive producing alongside Tigelaar.
THE MORNING SHOW WITH MIKE & JULIET (Syndication) - David Brown ("Fox & Friends") has been tapped as the executive producer of the syndicated talk show. He'll take over for Nancy Duffy, who's been reassigned to special projects for Fox News. WCBS's Lauren Petterson then will assume Brown's previous post on "Fox & Friends." Completing the circle: "Morning Show" hosts Mike Jerrick and Juliet Huddy previously served as anchors of "Fox & Friends Weekend."
