COVERT AFFAIRS (USA) - The cable channel is reportedly close to ordering a pilot for the drama project, about a CIA trainee who's "shocked to meet her new partner, Ben, the man who broke her heart when he unceremoniously dumped her many years ago -- when he couldn't disclose his joining the CIA." Matt Corman and Chris Ord are behind the Universal Cable Productions-based hour, which also comes from executive producers Dave Bartis and Doug Liman of Dutch Oven Productions. Casting is underway for the two central characters on the show, the success of which may trigger a production commitment.
DEXTER (Showtime) - Courtney Ford has booked a multi-episode arc on the show's upcoming fourth season. She'll play a reporter in an unspecified number of episodes. Ford's casting comes on the heels of John Lithgow signing on as Miami's latest serial killer and new nemesis of Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall).
HEROES (NBC) - Madeline Zima ("Californication") has landed a recurring role on the series. She's set as Gretchen, an edgy outsider and college roommate to Claire (Hayden Panettiere). No other specifics were given.
HUNG (HBO) - Gregg Henry ("The Riches") has scored a multi-episode arc on the newcomer, which premieres later this month. He'll play Mike, an assistant coach to Thomas Jane's character. Further details weren't released.
