BACKYARD WEDDING (Hallmark, New!) - Alicia Witt ("Friday Night Lights"), Frances Fisher ("Eureka") and Markie Post ("Holiday in Handcuffs") are set to star in a new original movie for the cable channel about Kim Tyler (Witt), "who is all set to have the wedding of her dreams in her parents' backyard, but her ex-husband and first love - whose parents happen to live next door - keeps popping up." Post will play Kim's Aunt Addie with Fisher as Kim's mother, Eleanor. Nina Weinman penned the project, to be directed by Bradford May. Larry Levinson is executive producing with Randy Pope and Amanda Phillips serving as co-executive producers and James Wilberger and Brian J. Gordon producing.
DELTA BLUES (TNT) - Sam Hennings ("Elevator Girl"), Robyn Lively ("Saving Grace") and Leonard Earl Howze ("Barbershop") have each landed roles on the drama pilot, about Dwight Hendricks (Jason Lee), "a Memphis police officer who lives with his mother and moonlights as an Elvis impersonator." Hennings will play Dwight's partner Whitehead with Lively as Charlene, Dwight's ex-wife whose catering company is contracted by the MPD, and Howze as a detective who works closely with Dwight and Whitehead. Liz Garcia and Joshua Harto are behind the hour, which comes from Warner Horizon Television and George Clooney and Grant Heslov's Smokehouse Pictures. Henry Bronchtein and Abby Wolf-Weiss also serve as co-executive producers.
