DOCUMENTAL (HBO) - The pay channel has reportedly passed on the comedy pilot, about "a documentary filmmaker (Justin Theroux) who tracks down his idol, an equally inept filmmaker (Steve Coogan), and documents his return to his craft." No reason for the decision was given. Theroux wrote and directed the half-hour, which he also executive produced alongside Coogan and Ben Stiller.
DON'T TRUST THE BITCH IN APT 23 (ABC) - David Hemingson and Nahnatchka Khan's single-comedy, "an earnest, honest, optimistic girl from the heartland who is forced to move in with a sexy, unstable New York City party girl who has the morals of a pirate," has found a new life at the Alphabet. Jason Winer ("Modern Family") is on board to helm the half-hour, which was originally set up at FOX in 2009. Jeff Morton will produce for 20th Century Fox Television.
ENTOURAGE (HBO) - "The Big Bang Theory" star Johnny Galecki is set to recur on the show's final season. He'll play a "tougher" version of himself who "signs with Eric (Kevin Connolly) and Scott (Scott Caan) at Murray Berenson and takes interest in Eric's girlfriend Sloan (Emmanuelle Chriqui)." No other details were given.
TRUE BLOOD (HBO) - Paola Turbay ("Royal Pains") is the latest addition to the show's upcoming fourth season. She's on board as Antonia, however no details were given other than "the fact that she speaks fluent Spanish." "True Blood" returns this summer.
THE WEDDING BAND (TBS) - Kathryn Fiore ("Glory Daze") and Jenny Wade ("The Good Guys") have both landed roles on the drama pilot, about "a group of guys who try to escape the stress and craziness of their lives by performing in a wedding band." The former will play Eddie's (Peter Cambor), a married father of two, wife with the latter as a love interest for Tommy (Brian Austin Green), a perennial bachelor. Bryan Gordon is helming the FremantleMedia/Tollin Productions-based hour, which also stars Derek Miller and Harold Perrineau, from a script by co-creators Darin Moiselle and Josh Lobis.
WICKED (ABC, New!) - Salma Hayek ("Ugly Betty") is developing the Gregory MaGuire's beloved book-turned-Broadway musical as an eight-hour mini-series at the Alphabet. ABC Studios and Hayek's Ventanarosa Productions are co-producing the project, which has tapped Erik Jendresen ("Band of Brothers") to pen the script. Hayek then will executive produce alongside Jose Tamez.
