RUBY IS BACK ... AND SO IS THE WEIGHT
STYLE NETWORK HIT SERIES "RUBY" RETURNS SUNDAY, MARCH 6th at 8:00 PM ET/PT
One-Hour Special, "Ruby: My Naked Truth," Featuring Never Before-Seen Footage of the Reality Star, Airs at 7:00PM ET/PT
LOS ANGELES - February 7, 2011 Viewers have witnessed reality TV darling, Ruby Gettinger, fight tooth and nail to successfully lose weight. Along the way, she has hit many major milestones: finally fitting in to a pair of jeans, driving a car and riding a bike again for the first time in years. However, her impressive weight loss has come to a halt with the scale going up an additional 60 pounds. Now, America sees a more heart-wrenching side of our heroine as she struggles to confront the emotional reasons behind her addiction to food in the new season of the hit series "Ruby," premiering on Sunday March 6, 2011, at 8:00 PM, ET/PT on STYLE. A one-hour clip special, "Ruby: My Naked Truth," featuring never-before-seen footage, will air at 7:00 PM ET/PT immediately before the fourth season premiere.
In the premiere episode, Ruby's ex-boyfriend, Denny, comes to town and offers to cook Ruby a healthy dinner. What should be a fun cooking lesson escalates into an all-out screaming match about the true nature of their relationship. The couple visits Ruby's therapist where Ruby learns that she must accept their relationship for what it is -- despite how hard it might be to do.
As the season continues, beloved Ruby sinks into a depression as she now finds herself facing her greatest fear of all: the weight she worked so desperately to shed is creeping back. Ruby reflects on a childhood she doesn't remember and the possibility that she was abused during those early, forgotten years. Rather than allowing her to wallow in self pity, Ruby's inner circle -- best friends Georgia and Jeff, ex-boyfriend Denny and personal trainers, Drew and Shazi finally confront her about her weight gain and the excuses she uses to justify it. They rally around her and for the first time begin to practice "tough love." Jeff shocks her by calling her "sick," and one of her trainers questions if she even wants to lose weight after Ruby storms out of a work-out session. Tempers flare, old feelings ignite and Ruby is forced to face the truth about herself . Additionally, Ruby's friends and supporters, Rosie O'Donnell and Pastor Paula White, visit with her this season to share their experiences and thoughts about what they believe she must do to conquer her addiction to food.
Many Americans who struggle with weight loss or addiction hit bumps in the road on their journey to recovery. In typical Ruby fashion, she opens herself up in the most intimate way, allowing viewers to accompany her on her journey to battle self-doubt and fear. Will Ruby let these emotional setbacks stunt her phenomenal progress? How will her friends help her find her way back on course? And finally, will the demons that have haunted Ruby for so long be exposed and expelled? Join her on this new leg of her journey when the fourth season of "Ruby" premieres on Style, beginning Sunday, March 6, at 8 PM ET/PT.
"Ruby" is produced by Gay Rosenthal Productions. Executive Producers are Gay Rosenthal, Paul Barrosse, Nicholas Caprio, Carrie Franklin, Tim Puntillo and Brittany Daniel. They are joined by Style's Executive Producer Sarah Weidman.
