By The Futon Critic Staff (TFC)

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- The latest development news, culled from recent wire reports:

Looking to keep track of all the various projects in development? Click here to visit our signature "Devwatch" section. There visitors can view our listings by network, genre, studio and even development stage (ordered to pilot, cast-contingent, script, etc.). It's updated every day!

A GIFTED MAN (CBS) - Mike Doyle ("Law & Order: Special Victims Unit") has landed a role on the Eye's freshman drama. He'll potentially recur as Victor Lantz, a doctor on the series, however no other specifics were given.

ONE TREE HILL (The CW) - Former "Dancing With the Stars" contestant Chelsea Kane has landed a role on the netlet's veteran soap. She'll play Tara, "a rival cafe owner to Haley (Bethany Joy Galeotti and Brooke (Sophia Bush)." No other details were given. "Hill" returns for its presumed swan song, featuring the returns of Paul Johansson and Tyler Hilton, at midseason.

PUSHING DAISIES (ABC) - Executive producer Dan Jinks has inked an overall deal with CBS Television Studios. The pact sets up his The Dan Jinks Company at the studio where he'll develop new series projects. Jinks previously developed alongside his longtime partner Bruce Cohen via their The Jinks/Cohen Company, which closed up shop at Warner Bros. Television earlier this year.

RINGER (The CW) - Zoey Deutch has joined the cast of the upcoming drama. She'll recur as Juliet, the wild child step-daughter of Siobhan (Sarah Michelle Gellar). Deutch takes over for Caitlin Custer, who played said role in the original pilot. No reason for the change was given.
