E! ENTERTAINMENT SPECIAL: TYRA BANKS

The Supermodel Sits Down With E! To Share The Most Pivotal Moments In Her Fascinating Life

30 Minute Special Premieres on Wednesday, September 28th on E!

(Los Angeles, CA, September 26, 2011) -- In exclusive and intimate sit down interviews, Tyra Banks and those closest to her - including her mother and her best childhood friend - reveal to E! the true stories surrounding the watershed moments of her life. From candid confessions about her times as a "mean girl" to how a simple cheese pizza changed the course of her career, Banks' most personal moments are shared in the E! Entertainment Special: TYRA BANKS, premiering on September 28 at 10:00 PM on E!.

Tyra Banks has been the face of Victoria's Secret, Sports Illustrated swimsuits editions, the hit show "America's Next Top Model" and her namesake talk show, "Tyra." In the special, she reveals how she is driven every day to achieve "perfection" and shares the moments that shaped not just prolific career, but her heart.

Exclusive quotes from the 30 minute special include:

"I became the mean girl, head of the clique from around nine to eleven years old. And when I say mean, I'm talking real, ugly mean." - Tyra Banks

"Hanging out with Tyra on the weekends sometimes entailed like 'oh we're going to go to the mall so I can do a runway show for a department store,' and I'm like 'what?!?' But, she was never snotty about it or got a big head about it." - Robyn Roth, Bank's Childhood Friend

"I could have seen me turning into the stereotypical bitch conceited girl. I realized that prom queen, or being admired by your peers is not about being popular and being in Seventeen Magazine...I think that moment showed me that there's so much more to being recognized." - Tyra Banks, reflecting on a memorable moment from her prom.

"Probably the biggest decision of her life was 'should I go to college or should I go to Paris and pursue modeling?' and that was something that she and her mom went back and forth with for a long time and her mom left it up to her." - Robyn Roth, Bank's Childhood Friend

"I have this thing inside of me that eats at me to create things that are perfection. When I was working on America's Next Top Model, I wasn't sleeping, I was living in the edit bay." - Tyra Banks

"She got physically sick from just trying to have her hands on everything. When she got the talk show, I actually became afraid for her." - Carolyn London, Bank's Mother

"She always had a boyfriend and it was always some amazing guy that was really sweet and really cool. But she definitely wore the pants in the relationship. And you need a really powerful, together guy that knows who he is to handle that." - Robyn Roth, Bank's Childhood Friend

"I think the moment that clicked [was] when I was crying at the table with 10 executives from my company. That was the moment when I said 'something's got to change,' and I am changing it. I'm trying to create a balance that the only gratification I get in life is not just from work." - Tyra Banks

This unique and deeply personal look at the life of Tyra Banks premieres on September 28th only on E!.
