SUSPENSE AND INTRIGUE LURK IN THE DARKNESS OF LIFETIME ORIGINAL MOVIE "STALKERS," STARRING EMMY(R)-WINNER DREA de MATTEO, JODI LYN O'KEEFE AND MENA SUVARI

Premiering April 13 and Based on the Book Whisper of Fear: The True Story of the Prosecutor Who Stalks the Stalkers by Rhonda Saunders

LOS ANGELES, CA (March 22, 2013) - The Lifetime Original Movie Stalkers, starring Emmy(R) Award winning actress Drea de Matteo (Sons of Anarchy, The Sopranos), Mena Suvari (American Beauty, American Pie) and Jodi Lyn O'Keefe (Prison Break, She's All That), is set to premiere on Saturday, April 13, at 8:00pm ET/PT. Telling the chilling story of a tough, hot-headed cop with a troubled past who teams up with a polished, politically savvy Assistant District Attorney to take down a dangerous stalker, the thriller is inspired by a true story from the book Whisper of Fear: The True Story of the Prosecutor Who Stalks the Stalkers, by Rhonda Saunders, a criminal prosecutor who wrote the law on stalking in California.

Frustrated with the judicial system's indifference towards stalking cases, ambitious A.D.A "Julia Winston" (O'Keefe) is determined to establish a task force charged with tracking and prosecuting predators before they harm or kill their victims. However, Julia's "boys club" of bosses dismisses her concerns as trivial and repeatedly rebuffs her efforts. Meanwhile, recently hired detective "Diane Harkin" (de Matteo) faces similar resistance from fellow officers in her new precinct when she discovers numerous unsolved stalking cases. But for Diane, the fight to change the system is personal. She herself is on the run, having fled a violent ex-husband who won't rest until he catches up with her and their young son. Crossing paths on an especially harrowing case of a woman terrorized by an obsessive former lover (Suvari), Diane and Julia find common ground and form an unlikely partnership to tackle the case. But the two soon realize that to beat stalkers at their own game, they can't play strictly by the rules, and that bringing these criminals to justice means both Diane and Julia must put their careers -- and lives -- on the line. Henry Simmons (NYPD Blue, Shark) also stars as Harper's partner "Cliff."

Stalkers is produced by Pilgrim Studios (Lifetime's Abducted: The Carlina White Story, Amanda Knox: Murder on Trial in Italy) and is executive produced by Craig Piligian, with Beth Miller serving as co-executive producer. The film is directed by Mark Tonderai (House at the End of the Street, Hush) and written by David Wiener (Last Resort).

Drea de Matteo is best known for her role as "Adriana" on HBO's critically acclaimed show The Sopranos, for which she won an Emmy and received SAG and Golden Globe(R) nominations. She went on to star as Matt Le Blanc's sister "Gina" on NBC's Joey and as "Angie" on ABC's Desperate Housewives. Most recently, De Matteo had a recurring role on FX's Sons of Anarchy. Her screen credits include Walker Payne, Broken English, New York, I Love You, Assault on Precinct 13, R'Xmas, Lake City and Free Ride.

Jodi Lyn O'Keefe starred in Fox's hit drama Prison Break, where she played the deliciously evil "Gretchen." Audiences also know her as Don Johnson's rebellious daughter "Cassidy" in the CBS series Nash Bridges. This year, she co-stars in the thriller The Frozen Ground, opposite John Cusack. O'Keefe also starred in the 2012 Lifetime Original Movie A Nanny's Revenge. She has starred in the feature films She's All That and a series of popular horror films, including Halloween: H20, Devil in the Flesh Part II and more.

Mena Suvari is perhaps best known for her role in the Academy Award(R)-winning film American Beauty. She followed that with a turn in the hit comedy American Pie. Suvari's additional film credits include Sonny, Spun, Loser, Sugar and Spice, American Pie 2, The Musketeer, Nowhere, Factory Girl, Rumor Has It, Domino, Beauty Shop, Trauma, Stuck, The Mysteries of Pittsburgh and Hemingway's Garden of Eden. She also had a recurring role on the HBO series Six Feet Under. Most recently seen in a recurring role on the FX hit American Horror Story, Suvari also reunited with the cast of the highly successful American Pie series for the latest installment, American Reunion.
