GOLD MEDALIST PICABO STREET JOINS FOX SPORTS AS ANALYST FOR 2014 OLYMPIC WINTER GAMES

Champion Skier To Provide Commentary On FOX Sports 1, FOXSPORTS.COM & FOX Sports Radio

New York - Olympic gold medal downhill skier Picabo Street has joined FOX Sports as an analyst for the 2014 Winter Games from Sochi, Russia, it was announced today by Rick Jaffe, Senior Vice President of News, FOX Sports. Street provides expert analysis during all women's and men's skiing events, as well as contributes daily commentary prior to and throughout The Games across all of FSMG's platforms including FOX Sports 1, FOXSports.com and FOX Sports Radio.

"In addition to leading the media charge up to and during the 2014 Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia, FOX Sports is also making industry history by launching a new national multi-sports network, FOX Sports 1, in August," Street said. "I am humbled and very proud to be a part of the FOX Sports family through the 2014 Olympic Games and beyond."

"Picabo Street is not only synonymous with skiing, but is an icon in her sport, and we are thrilled she's joining the FOX Sports family," said Jaffe. "Picabo's personality is contagious. She's candid, she's entertaining and she's lived it. We are very happy she'll be involved in the lead-up coverage for the Winter Olympics as well as going to Sochi with us to cover The Games this coming February."

Street is a two-time Olympic medalist, having won gold in the Super G at the 1998 Games in Nagano, Japan. She took home her first medal, a silver in Downhill, in 1994 in Lillehammer, Norway. She also competed in the 2002 Games in Salt Lake City, Utah.

In addition to her impressive Olympics resume, she won the World Championships in 1996 and racked up nine downhill World Cup race wins in her career. In 1995, she became the first American woman to win the World Cup downhill season title, and then repeated the feat with a championship the following season.

During her skiing career, Street served as a spokeswoman for Nike and ChapStick and made several television appearances including on the shows Sesame Street, Nickelodeon GUTS, Pyramid, American Gladiators, Celebrity Paranormal Project and Stars Earn Stripes.

Born in Triumph, Idaho, Street was called "Baby Girl" for the first three years of her life and eventually given the first name Picabo, the name of a nearby town. Street grew up near Sun Valley, a popular skiing area, and joined the U.S. junior ski team when she was just 15 years old, capturing her first titles in U.S. Junior Downhill and Super G after just two years.
