CHICAGO FIRE (NBC) - Kelly Blatz ("Glory Daze") and Melissa Sagemiller ("Law & Order: Special Victims Unit") are the latest additions to the show's backdoor pilot about the Chicago Police Department. He'll play the young but seasoned Officer Elam while she's set as Detective Willhite, "a member of the Chicago PD Intelligence Unit." They join the recently cast Tania Raymonde and Scott Eastwood in the project, which will air as the season finale of the parent series on May 15. Derek Haas and Michael Brandt are behind the hour with Joe Chappelle directing. (Deadline.com)


HOUDINI (History, New!) - Oscar-winner Adrien Brody (The Pianist) is set to star in a potential mini-series at the cable channel that tracks the ascent of master magician Harry Houdini from desperate poverty to worldwide fame. Gerald W. Abrams is executive producing the project, additional details of which weren't released. (EW.com)


OPEN (HBO, New!) - Ryan Murphy ("American Horror Story") and Lauren Gussis's ("Dexter") racy relationship drama has found a home at the pay channel where it has received a pilot order. Said effort revolves around five lead characters, including "a married couple of thirtysomethings, the husband's male co-worker and a woman in her 40s who is a yoga professional." Fox 21 is behind the hour with Murphy and Gussis executive producing alongside Ryan Murphy Productions' Dante Di Loreto. (Deadline.com)
