DISNEYCHANNEL.COM LAUNCHES NEW SHORT FORM VIDEO SERIES "THE COPPERTOP FLOP SHOW"

"King of the Beach" and "Food Enthusiast" Now Live on DisneyChannel.com/Coppertop

DisneyChannel.com is launching a new original short form video series, "The Coppertop Flop Show," today featuring rising star Calum Worthy, who portrays Dez, Austin's loyal and funny best friend in the hit Disney Channel original series "Austin & Ally."

Covering everything from his enthusiasm, or rather over-enthusiasm, for meatballs and epic "bro battles" to how to rule the beach "rocking socks and sandals," "The Coppertop Flop Show" features Worthy's unique and creative take on the world. Approximately 1-2 minutes long, the shorts will premiere weekly on DisneyChannel.com/Coppertop Friday mornings, followed by a broadcast debut on Disney Channel the following Friday evening. The first two episodes "King of the Beach" and "Food Enthusiast" are live now.

"Our audience loves short form video and this series with Calum, who is so talented and naturally funny, is a great fit for them," said Lauren DeVillier, vice president, digital media, Disney Channels Worldwide. "I think kids will really respond to his humor and unique point of view."

Worthy began his acting career at the age of nine and made his film debut in "Night Visions," before landing the starring role in the BBC-Canadian award-winning mini-series "I Was a Rat." He has since appeared in more than 50 different film and television productions, including HBO's "Out of Order," "The Days," "Reunion" and "Psych." He also appeared on Disney Channel's "Good Luck Charlie," as well as "Stargate Atlantis," "Flashpoint," "Prepped," "Kyle XY," "Caprica," "Smallville," A&E's "Longmire," "Supernatural" and "Stormworld," which earned him the 2010 Leo Award in Canada for his performance.

In addition to his early feature films, "The Last Mimzy," "Dr. Dolittle 3" and "Deck The Halls," Worthy appeared in the independent film "The Odds" and "The Big Year," starring Jack Black, Owen Wilson and Steve Martin.

Worthy's longtime collaborators Derek Baynham and Kelly May are producing, along with Corey Moss at Principato-Young Entertainment. The team films with a skeleton script and crew to allow for the humor to emerge organically. They keep the process nimble by letting the camera roll and getting as many options as possible.
