NBC NEWS' PEACOCK PRODUCTIONS SECURES FIRST UK COMMISSION OUT OF NEW LONDON OFFICE

BBC Three Orders Documentary on Amanda Knox Case

LONDON - February 12, 2014 - BBC Three has ordered a one-off special on the latest twists and turns of the Amanda Knox and Rafaelle Sollecito trial. The documentary is produced by NBC News' Peacock Productions and is their first BBC commission out of their new London office.

Is Amanda Knox Guilty? will be the first TV documentary on the case since the second guilty verdict announced by an Italian judge on January 30.

Peacock Productions is part of NBC News and opened a London office in October 2013, headed by Managing Director Steve Anderson.

The film is produced in association with film-makers and journalists Paul Russell and Andrea Vogt, who produced a feature length documentary, having followed the Meredith Kercher murder case from the very beginning in November 2007.

It features exclusive interviews with Stephanie and Lyle Kercher, Meredith's brother and sister; as well as defence lawyers and experts from both the defence and the prosecution.

The 1x60 documentary was commissioned by BBC Knowledge's Carol Sennett and Zai Bennett, Controller of BBC Three. It will be executive produced by Steve Anderson and air on BBC Three on Monday 17 February at 9pm. The director is Andrea Vogt, it is produced by Paul Russell and for NBC Peacock, the producer is Kate Hampson.

Steve Anderson said: "Andrea and Paul have followed every twist and turn of this story and captured all of the key moments and important interviewees. We are grateful to the family of Meredith Kercher for their co-operation in the making of the programme."

Sharon Scott, President and General Manager of Peacock Productions, said: "We're thrilled to be working with BBC Three on the first commission to come out of the recently opened London office; you can expect to see a lot more from Steve and his team in the coming months."

Is Amanda Knox Guilty? will be distributed by Autentic Distribution of Munich, Germany.
