"OPRAH'S THE LIFE YOU WANT WEEKEND" ARENA TOUR TEAMS WITH DISCOVERY EDUCATION AND STEP UP TO PROVIDE TICKETS FOR OUTSTANDING EDUCATORS, MENTORS AND MENTEES ACROSS THE U.S.

Educators and Mentors Each to Host a Guest of Their Choosing to 'Pay It Forward'

Los Angeles -- "Oprah's The Life You Want Weekend," an eight-city arena tour and transformational weekend featuring Oprah Winfrey and a team of special guests, announced today an initiative to reward and inspire outstanding educators and mentors throughout the country with complimentary tickets to attend the life-changing weekend event. In each of the eight U.S. cities the tour will visit this fall, pairs of tickets will be distributed via Discovery Education, leading provider of digital content and professional development for K-12 classrooms, and Step Up, the nonprofit that inspires women to inspire teen girls to fulfill their potential. Discovery Education will distribute tickets to deserving educators in and around each city, while Step Up will target member mentors.

Furthermore, each honored educator and mentor will receive an additional ticket to "pay it forward" by hosting someone who has played a significant role in their life or who might especially benefit from hearing the message of living the life you want. "Oprah's The Life You Want Weekend" from Harpo Studios, O, The Oprah Magazine, OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network and WME Live, sponsored by Olay and Toyota, kicks off September 5-6 in Atlanta.

Tickets are currently on sale to the general public at www.oprahweekend.com.

"My mentor, teacher and friend Maya Angelou said 'When you learn, teach, when you get, give,' and I cannot think of a better way to honor her than by honoring the teachers and mentors among us who share their gifts with others," said Oprah Winfrey. "I am especially pleased to empower these inspirational individuals further by inviting them to share our weekend experience."

"Oprah's The Life You Want Weekend" will visit the following cities:

Sept. 5-6 Atlanta, Georgia Philips Arena

Sept. 12-13 Auburn Hills, Michigan The Palace of Auburn Hills

Sept. 19-20 Washington D.C. Verizon Center
