EDDIE MURPHY TO STAR IN HIS FIRST SCRIPTED TELEVISION SERIES, "THE CHAIRMAN," AT PEACOCK

Drama in Development From Emmy Award Winner Matthew Weiner and 101 Studios

· Peacock is developing the drama series "The Chairman," starring Academy Award nominee, Emmy Award winner and global superstar Eddie Murphy.

· "The Chairman" comes from nine-time Emmy Award-winning writer Matthew Weiner, the showrunner and creator behind the critically beloved series "Mad Men" and executive producer and writer on the iconic drama series "The Sopranos."

· This marks the first project between NBCUniversal, 101 Studios/CEO David Glasser ("Mobland," "Yellowstone," "Landman") and their longtime collaborator Chris McCarthy as a part of his overall deal with NBCUniversal.

· 101 Studios will produce along with Murphy and Weiner. 

· Glasser and 101 Studios began a first-look film and television deal at NBCUniversal in January of this year. 

· The series marks Muphy's first television series regular role since he left NBC's "Saturday Night Live" in 1984. He was also the executive producer of the animated series "The PJ's" (Fox).

· The series will be produced by 101 Studios and Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group.
