UNIVERSAL CITY, CA - October 7, 2014 -- USA Network has ordered four additional episodes of the highly anticipated event series DIG, bringing the series to a total of 10 episodes. Additionally, the network announced that the thriller will premiere on Thursday, March 5. DIG is executive produced by powerhouse auspices Tim Kring ("Heroes") and Gideon Raff ("Homeland"), and comes from Universal Cable Productions. The pilot was shot in Israel, and subsequent episodes are being shot in Croatia and New Mexico.
"We knew when we saw the exceptional pilot and immersed ourselves into the incredible world of intrigue that Tim and Gideon have created with DIG that we wanted more," said McCumber. "With its multi-layered story, international locations, cinematic production and immensely talented cast -- DIG promises to be a must-watch event series."
"DIG is not only a major event series, it's also a major event for our studio. An action thriller, DIG tells the story of a murder mystery set against the backdrop of modern day Jerusalem, a city shrouded in ancient intrigue. When he sets out to solve the murder of a young American, Peter soon finds himself embroiled in an international mystery that delves into the Holy Land's darkest secrets. What he discovers is a conspiracy thousands of years in-the -making that threatens to change the course of history. While Peter races to figure out what it all means, he quickly finds that he may not be the only one searching for answers.
The series also stars David Costabile ("Breaking Bad"), Screen Actors Guild Award-winner Richard E. Grant ("Downton Abbey"), Golden Globe Award-winner Regina Taylor ("The Unit"), Emmy Award nominee Lauren Ambrose ("Six Feet Under"), Alison Sudol (A Fine Frenzy), Tony Award nominee Omar Metwally ("Non-Stop") and Ori Pfeffer ("World War Z").
