Casey Patterson Named Executive Producer of "2016 MTV Movie Awards"

25th Anniversary Edition to Air Sunday, April 10th at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT from Los Angeles

NEW YORK, NY (January 19, 2016) - MTV today announced the "2016 MTV Movie Awards" will be executive produced by Casey Patterson and air on Sunday, April 10, 2016 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT from Los Angeles, California. An Emmy(R)-nominated, critically-acclaimed executive producer, Patterson has helmed a diverse collection of iconic programming and high-profile events with the recently launched Casey Patterson Entertainment and over the course of her 20 year tenure with Viacom. Her most recent projects include Spike's runaway hit series "Lip Sync Battle," which recently attracted 4.7 million viewers to its season two premiere, Bill Murray's "A Very Murray Christmas" on Netflix and "Taraji and Terrence's White Hot Holidays," a variety show for FOX featuring the stars of the smash hit hip-hop drama "Empire."

"I have always loved The MTV Movie Awards because they represent the coolest, loudest and most hyper-engaged audience out there," said Patterson. "The Movie Awards isn't about critics, it's about the fans, spectacle, comedy and fun. This has always been "my" movie award show as a fan, so to be asked to produce the 25th Anniversary is every exciting."
