SHOWTIME(R) ANNOUNCES SXSW PLANS FEATURING A THREE-DAY MUSIC LINE-UP HEADLINED BY THE HEAD AND THE HEART

The SHOWTIME ROADIES House Will Celebrate Music's Unsung Heroes Providing A VIP Experience To Roadies Working At SXSW From March 16 To 18

Series Stars Luke Wilson And Carla Gugino To Appear At ROADIES House

NEW YORK - February 10, 2016 - SHOWTIME is celebrating music's unsung heroes at the South By Southwest (SXSW) Music, Film and Interactive Festival, in honor of Oscar(R) winner Cameron Crowe's new music series ROADIES, premiering on the network this summer. SHOWTIME will be taking over Clive Bar on Rainey Street in Austin from March 16-18 for a three-day music experience featuring bands performing every hour on the hour for afternoon and evening sessions. Featured acts will include Jamestown Revival, Ra Ra Riot, Sun Kil Moon, Black Joe Lewis, Grizfolk, White Denim and headliners The Head and The Heart, among many others. ROADIES stars Luke Wilson (Old School, Enlightened) and Screen Actors Guild(R) Award nominee Carla Gugino (San Andreas) will be on hand to introduce Friday's headliners to the SXSW Music crowd. In addition, SHOWTIME will once again be the exclusive sponsor of the Festival's multi-platform SXSW GO app, as well as the Film, Interactive and Music Festival's shuttle buses.

As a special treat for all roadies working the festival, SHOWTIME will invite them to join as VIPs, with special access to the ROADIES house. Inside the VIP area, they will receive free massages, complimentary barbeque and cocktails, and premium giveaways, including ROADIES swag. SHOWTIME will also show their love to the roadies by creating a high-end portrait studio where they will have an opportunity to tell their unique tour stories, to be featured on the ROADIES Instagram page, and will receive exclusive merchandise distributed only to those featured in the studio. The general admission area of the SHOWTIME ROADIES House will be open to all Music and Platinum badge holders at SXSW on a first-come, first-serve basis. Badge holders will have the opportunity to win free merchandise, take a photo in a "roadies" photo booth and experience the three-day music line-up. Follow along using the hashtag #RoadiesLove for tales from the road and SHOWTIME activities at SXSW.

For the fourth consecutive year, the impact of the SHOWTIME brand will be felt through the official sponsorship of the multi-platform SXSW GO app, as well as the Film, Interactive and Music Festival's shuttle buses. Festival goers will be able to hop aboard a ROADIES-branded bus, which will shuttle them from the Austin Convention Center to venues throughout the city for the duration of SXSW. The shuttle buses will also showcase footage from the series to the passengers on board. The official SXSW GO mobile app, presented by SHOWTIME, allows attendees to view, plan and share their schedule, network with others and navigate the convention once they are on the ground. The in-app experience will allow SXSW users to play a ROADIES-inspired game titled "Shut The Truck Up," for the daily chance to win a pair of BOSE(R) headphones.

ROADIES House headliners The Head and The Heart will make a triumphant return to SXSW. The band has not performed at the Festival since 2011, when they were first signed to their label. The band also prominently appears in ROADIES' first episode. Formed in Seattle, The Head and the Heart released their self-titled debut album on Sub Pop Records in 2011, which went on to become one of the label's best-selling debut releases. The band's sophomore release "Let's Be Still" followed in the fall of 2013, with the two records totaling more than 500,000 sold in the U.S. alone. The Head and the Heart has become an internationally celebrated band, having built a loyal fan base and becoming known for their raucous and energetic live shows. The band is currently recording, with new music expected in the coming year.

ROADIES is a one-hour ensemble comedy written, created, directed and executive produced by Oscar winner Cameron Crowe, his first television series. The series gives an insider's look at the reckless, romantic, funny and often poignant lives of a committed group of "roadies" who live for music and the de facto family they've formed along the way. The series chronicles the rock world through the eyes of music's unsung heroes and pays homage to the backstage workers who put the show on the road while touring the United States for the successful arena-level group, The Staton-House Band. In addition to Wilson and Gugino, the ensemble cast of ROADIES includes Imogen Poots (The Look of Love), Rafe Spall (One Day), Academy Award(R) nominee Keisha Castle-Hughes (Whale Rider), Peter Cambor (NCIS: Los Angeles), Colson Baker a.k.a. Machine Gun Kelly (Beyond the Lights) and Ron White (Blue Collar Comedy Tour). Luis Guzman (Boogie Nights), Jacqueline Byers (The Strain), Finesse Mitchell (Saturday Night Live), Branscombe Richmond (Forgetting Sarah Marshall) and Tanc Sade (Matador, Gilmore Girls) guest star.

Emmy(R) and Tony(R) nominee Winnie Holzman (My So-Called Life, Wicked) serves as writer and executive producer, along with Emmy winners J.J. Abrams (Lost, Fringe, Person of Interest), Bryan Burk (Lost, Fringe, Person of Interest) and Len Goldstein (Hart of Dixie). Kathy Lingg (Person of Interest, Fringe) is co-executive producer. ROADIES is produced by Bad Robot Productions, Vinyl Films and Dooley & Company Productions, in association with Warner Bros. Television. Kelly Curtis, Pearl Jam's manager and a regular collaborator with Crowe, serves as producer and music supervisor.
