UP Renews Hit Original Series "Bringing Up Bates" and "Growing Up McGhee"

Renewals come on the heels of the network announcing its median age is nine years younger than a year ago*

ATLANTA - August 18, 2016 - UP TV, the entertainment destination that showcases stories about modern American families and the relationships that define them, announced today that it has renewed hit reality series Bringing Up Bates for a fifth season and newcomer Growing Up McGhee for a second season. UP has ordered 13 episodes of Bringing Up Bates and 10 episodes of Growing Up McGhee to premiere next year.

"Bringing Up Bates and Growing Up McGhee truly speak to our audience with the perfect blend of heart and humor. They are brand-defining series that deliver on UP's promise to bring viewers great stories about families of all shapes and sizes," said Amy Winter, evp and general manager, UP. "These lovable families have welcomed viewers into their homes each week, and we are excited to continue the journey with them and experience all of the love, laughter, excitement and chaos in their ever-changing and highly entertaining lives."

The fourth season of Bringing Up Bates is currently premiering new episodes on Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET. Bringing Up Bates season four to date is outperforming season three in all key demos and ranks #17 vs. ASC in the time period among W18-49**. Led by devoted father Gil and his loving wife Kelly Jo, the Bates do everything in bulk while staying true to their values and rules for the family. But lately - as viewers will see - their simple rural lifestyle in Tennessee is in a flurry of transitions as this remarkable and evergrowing family continues to navigate life's triumphs and challenges.

Growing Up McGhee season one reached over 5.7 million viewers and doubled the previous time period average in W25-54***. In Growing Up McGhee, Ro and Mia McGhee and their growing sextuplets balance life with school and their family business. Even though life is chaotic with six (yes, six!) six-yearolds who have unique personalities and interests, the family has found time for many adventures. Ro and Mia never know what's going to happen and have mastered staying calm and finding humor in the craziest of situations that happen when you are chasing after sextuplets.

The UP original series Bringing Up Bates and Growing Up McGhee are produced by Figure 8 Films, the acclaimed family reality television producers of such series as Kate Plus 8, The Willis Family and many others. For Bringing Up Bates, Executive Producers are Bill Hayes, Kirk Streb, Deanie Wilcher and Mary Wilcher. Executive Producer and Director is Matthew Hightower. Series Producer is Tori Holder. For Growing Up McGhee, Executive Producers are Bill Hayes, Kirk Streb, Deanie Wilcher and Jen Stocks. Executive Producer and Director is Jessica Bertulis. Post Producer is Stefanie Valenzky.
