ARK, THE (NBC, New!) - Daniel Kunka (12 Rounds) has sold a potential drama to the Peacock about "an engineer who, after the death of his wife, has a vision to construct a ship capable of sustaining life in space. (Deadline.com)
BLOOD DEFENSE (NBC, New!) - Marcia Clark has landed a put pilot commitment from the Peacock for a legal drama procedural based on her novel about Samantha Brinkman, "a relentless criminal defense attorney in Los Angeles whose world is turned upside down when she is hired to defend a police detective in a high-profile homicide, thrusting her into the public spotlight and exposing dark secrets from her past." Elizabeth Craft and Sara Fain will co-write the hour with Clark for the ABC Studios-based Mandeville Television. The company's David Hoberman, Todd Lieberman and Laurie Zaks will likewise executive produce. (Deadline.com)
CRIMINAL MINDS: BEYOND BORDERS (CBS) - Matt Cohen will recur on the show's second season as "IRU team leader Jack Garrett's son Ryan. Ryan is following in his father's footsteps by becoming a top agent for the FBI." Also on tap are Osric Chau as "a mysterious figure in Singapore known as Gui, which translates to Ghost"; and Rob Benedict and Richard Speight, Jr. as "life-long friends and budding American entrepreneurs who go to Bangladesh to close a deal for their new clothing company." (TVLine.com)
DESCENDANTS 2 (Disney Channel) - Anna Cathcart (Odd Squad) has been cast as Dizzy, "the daughter of Cinderella's evil stepsister Drizella." (TVLine.com)
DOCUMENTING LOVE (ABC, New!) - Mara Brock Akil and Salim Akil ("The Game") are back in the comedy business with a potential half-hour at the Alphabet billed as "a multi-camera comedic love story about a modern-day power couple." Said effort is set up at their Warner Bros. Television-based Akil Productions with a pilot production commitment from the network. (Deadline.com)
EMPIRE (FOX) - Diane Ademu-John ("The Originals") has inked a multi-year overall deal with 20th Century Fox Television where she'll join the studio's hit as a co-executive producer as well as develop new series projects. (Deadline.com)
EXCHANGE, THE (ABC, New!) - Nicholas Osborne has booked a potential drama at the Alphabet about "a charming male British cop crosses the pond to work with a no nonsense female New Orleans detective as part of a police exchange program. Yet as they solve crimes together, we come to realize their personalities are masks used to conceal the pain of a traumatic event in each of their childhoods, and that the solution to truly being themselves lies in bringing down a secret criminal society based in New Orleans." David Hoberman, Todd Lieberman and Laurie Zaks will also presumably executive produce for their ABC Studios-based Mandeville Television. (Deadline.com)
ONCE UPON A TIME (ABC) - Faran Tahir has been cast as Captain Nemo from "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" on the series: "the hardened leader of the Nautilus submarine, who's a zealous believer in a cause that takes him from 20,000 leagues under the sea to the destiny that he won't let anyone prevent him from achieving." (EW.com)
SNATCH (Crackle) - Luke Pasqualino and Lucien Laviscount have scored lead roles on the project, based on the cult 2000 movie of the same name. The former will play Albert Hill, "an aspirational young man. He is smart, handsome, charming and a bit of a thinker as well as a doer. He strives to ensure that he doesn't end up like his father, Vic (Dougray Scott). Loyalty, heart and passion are at his core." The latter then is set as Billy "Fuckin'" Ayers, "a handsome, aggressive and stubborn boxer." (Deadline.com)
